So I got a copy of Madden...

I still enjoy playing Madden online, kicking peoples ass with Carolina when they never would expect that. Can't wait for 2k to start a NFL franchise again though, it'll be on the PS4 too.

NFL 2k5 is still the best NFL game of all time.

Haha the irony is that now days if you pick Carolina you are a cheap Cam using scrub. How the tables have turned.

NBA 2k14 is poo. 2k has started doing the same thing Madden does. Strip features and then add shittier versions later and advertise it as new.

The big feature in 2k this year is assigning "flashy passes" to a button instead of giving a random chance. To do that they also stripped down the controls and put dribble moves and shooting on the same stick, so it's common to accidentally shoot when you're trying to crossover. They also haven't touched key features in years. My Player is still crap. Hell the press conference reporters still have women's heads on giant men bodies because they can't be bothered.

Just saying, the grass isn't always greener. Nobody right now is making great sports games.

games are never the same when they are free. If you paid the $60 for it, you would think it was awesome and encourage others to buy it.

When it's free I don't care if it sucks.

Blowing $60 on a video game makes me hate it even more.

Madden's a piece of crap I don't know why people still buy it

Last time I played it it's like the gap between all-pro and all-madden is ridiculous, in all madden you get hit 2 seconds after snapping the ball, there's no psychology when it comes to run blocking it's basically programmed to "create massive clusterf*ck" so good luck sending deangelo up the middle, corners are conjoined to your wide receivers in all madden they never get open and never get separation no matter what you try to do strategically, and playing defense is a waste of fuging time. If you want to play defensive line all you do is mash buttons feverishly and frivolously like it's dynasty warriors until you tear a tendon in your thumb, and if you want to play corner, good fuging luck because the camera cuts off the outer 20% of the field usually. Much of the time I find the corner I'm playing running through the Gatorade stand on the sidelines, which is a pretty accurate interpretation of how our corners play but is frustrating nonetheless

I always thought NFL2k5 was the best football. It was ahead of it's time. The developers actually took advance of the Xbox's hard drive features. I was able to add the Fox music for the opener and add other music for different events. The graphics and textures in the game were amazing. If I am not mistaken, that game was only like 20.00 bucks that year. 2k needs to get ahold of the nfl licenses. There is literally no competition for EA which in my opinion makes it easier for them to be less innovative.

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
