The Chiefs supposedly offered the falcons a 5th round pick for Gonzales and they didn't take it ahahaaaaa

chiefs > falcons on classy scale.

chiefs weren't going anywhere and decided to do gonzo a solid by trading him to a team that was a legit playoff contender so he could finish his career with a winner. that was the only reason the falcons had him. that was the only reason he wasn't a chief.

gonzo puts off retiring for a year because of some supposed unfinished business trying to get to the superbowl and the team he decided to stick with falls apart.

his last chance for a ring for his HoF career vanishes in a flash, but his former team has had an epic turnaround and now has a very good chance to get in the superbowl. the falcons had a chance to do something good for gonzo and trade him back to his former team so he could finish his career with a winner, but they didn't.

of course, i would have been pissed if i was a falcon fan and they did that...giving away the only real weapon they have on offense...but the writing would be on the wall for the season. they aren't going anywhere and it's only a matter of time before complete apathy takes over that fanbase and most already consider this season a loss.

i can understand why the falcons wouldn't do it, but forgive me if i still look at that franchise right now and shake my head at their lack of classiness in looking out for one of their best players for the past 4 years or whatever.

Now we have to defend him...I believe that we're finally hitting our stride and finding out who we really are as a team. This game will be a decent measure of our progress. I hope we can continue to play the way we've been playing and let things fall together with us getting a W. I never want to lose to Atlanta again after that crap Matt Ryan said...and I loved Hardy's response after we beat them...

LOL anyone who doesn't believe that would have been highway robbery for Atlanta

Let's review: Gonzo has stated multiple times this is his last year, and then went further to saying he is open to a trade: Basically he screamed I'm done with Atlanta.

Atlanta has little hope for the playoffs or and zero shot at the SB this year.

They are going to lose Gonzo for nothing come years end.

Could have saved face by giving Gonzo a chance to win a SB with the Chiefs, called it a season and picked up a 5th rounder.

Terrible terrible terrible. Then again it's Atlanta
