I was the first person to vote "After Cam", so I'll explain it further.

I was born in Charlotte in 1991, and have been a Panthers fan my whole life, including during our Super Bowl heartbreak. However, I've also had two other favorite teams: the Broncos and Cowboys. My dad and his entire family is from Texas, so I was raised to pull for them. My Broncos fandom came about when Elway was with the team during their Super Bowls (I was 7 or so), and I pretty much pulled for them and the Panthers equally until the mid 2000's when I sort of lost interest in the sport while being a teenager.

Once Cam was drafted (my sophomore year in college), I got back into my love for football, and started following the Panthers more and more. Starting this past off season, I have been obsessed with the Panthers, and barely follow the Broncos and Cowboys anymore (although I do still pull for them). It makes it even sweeter that we're winning now.

Standing on the hill in Death Valley was my first conscious memory of a Panthers Game.  Making sure the VCR had a fresh tape in to record the 96 Dallas playoff game, losing my mind on the Beurline scramble, Smitty's first ever touch to the house against the Vikes, Drafting Pep #2 after getting screwed for #1(thanks Houston), Jaxonville in 03, Smitty vs STL, The Super Bowl... yeah I been here a while.

Haha! i remember having to go and buy blank tapes just for the Panther games. All those games you listed, except the St.Louis one I have moved onto DVD's, St.Louis still on VHS. I might be the only person with a VCR still in 2013. Only reason I have it is to watch old Panthers games.

I've lived in Indiana my entire life, but I have been to South Carolina about a total of 2-3 times.  Every time I came to SC, that I can remember, I had always loved it down there the weather, the ocean, the people seemed decent, and I don't know there's just something about that place that makes me want to live there some day.  I've never been to Charlotte though, hoping that may change soon.  Anyways, when I was about 13 I started to get into football.  I didn't have a favorite team yet and the very first full game I ever sat through was the Panthers vs Patriots SB.  That was one of the greatest games of all time, and one that I will never forget.  Even though they lost that day, they gained a die hard fan from the North.  If I were to die today one thing that every one would know about me, from where I'm from, was that I was the biggest Carolina Panthers fan that they were ever going to know.

It was hard for me to root for the Panthers when they totally messed up their 1st two ever drafts. Remember, they traded DOWN from the #1 draft choice and picked up Kerry Collins? They should have stayed put and drafted Steve McNair. Bad start. Even though I am an alum of an HBCU, Tyrone Poole in the first round was crazy to me. Ty Law and Korey Stringer came off the board right after him. No! THEN, the very next year they drafted Tshimanga Biakabutuka instead of Eddie George! GTFOH. I haven't been that mad at some draft choices since the Hornets drafted Rex Chapman with their first ever pick. It just felt the same to me. I knew those were terrible choices then. I'd been a Dallas Cowboys fan for 18 years before the Panthers were even born It was hard to sway me with horrible draft choices like the ones they had in the beginning of the franchise. I wasn't impressed. Don't get me wrong, I'm born and raised here. I root for the Panthers, until they play my team. I've rooted for the Panthers since their inception. I just haven't gotten over those first draft choices. That was the time to get me. They failed to do so.

Former cowboy fan.  I've been a Panthers fan since it was announced that Charlotte was getting a NFL franchise.  I

remember thinking about what the team name, logo and colors would be.  The name and colors that I was thinking of was the

Carolina Panthers with a black panther logo and the team colors would be black, blue(Carolina) and silver.  Everything

except the type of blue(electric) was what the official name, colors and logo turned out to be. It was nice to see this region of

the country be represented in the national dialogue about the NFL.

Now, I especially like hearing and reading about how people became fans who doesn't have ties to the Carolinas. What

attracted them.  I'm a homer so I understand a homer's point of view, but what's the draw for people who have other options.
