The weeks leading up to free agency period is just as fun. It's already started yesterday with The Falcons cutting Samuel and Nicholas.

Even today the Chiefs re-signed they long snapper and Redskins re-signed WR Aldrick Robinson.

Expect some Panther news possibly by next week.

I thought they came out and said they moved the Draft to May to make the NFL coverage/events basically year round spreading things out evenly. To me it was already basically spread out with OTAs starting within a month and change of the draft anyway.

Just a few more weeks to pump out Mock Drafts on websites and get more hits...

 

That being said I feel like a sad human being since I plan on DVRing the combine and watching when I get home form work :(

 

They had every month covered.  April is now defunct of anything worthy.  Before

 

Jan Playoffs / Pro Bowl

Feb Super Bowl /. Combines

March Free Agency Starts  Pro Days

April Draft 

May  Rookie and Mini Camps

June OTAs

July Preseason starts

August Preseason games

Sept Season Starts

Oct - Nov Regular Season

Dec - Reg Season Playoff Starts.

 

Now they went and Fugged it up by taking the Draft out of April so all we have is back end Free Agency going on.  Maybe an extra PRO DAY or two.

Every year. This year, some 6'3"+ WR is gonna have a great combine and the huddle is gonna be all over his sack immediately. YouTube clips masquerading as "game tape" all over the place

Really the best things to watch for at the combine are the feet and hips of the of the DB's  and how agile the OL are in movement drills. H/W/S doesn't always translate to the game...R.I.P. to Al Davis.

      lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

      Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
