We MIGHT* be tagging Hardy *Zod is in denial

tagging Hardy is a win-win. If we tag him and trade him, he has high value and we can get a quality player at another position of need. If we tag him and he stays, hes been a great player/personality and can keep this defense rolling. If we dont tag him we get nothing but a loss of talent and depth at the DE position.

Indeed.

It's really not that hard to understand.

They have been negotiating with Greg sine mid season at least when we heard that he turned down 8 mill per season.  With Hardy crowing about cash lately, I see this as a tag and trade scenario only but it won't be advertised as such or you lose leverage.  Doubt we will get to a multi year deal w Greg.

It is good that many people would like to have Clowney, only one will get him

You don't. That's the problem. We have to give up a lot to gain a great young DE.

Seven draft picks and probably another seven players off the practice squad and IR means we only need to sign seven of those guys we lost to free agency or go get cheaper or better players rather than resign some of last years guys like ginn mitchell etc.

Honestly gettleman will be expecting quite a few of these guys like mcnutt, king, bond, kugbila, smith, jasper and others to make a step up to replace what's left.

and how do you resign the other 20 players?

You think we plan on keeping all of our FA's? Gross already retired so make that 19, and then guys like Lafell, Campbell, Clausen, etc. will most likely be gone and we've got a lot more who are question marks. We'll draft guys and probably have some UDFAs, and then we'll get a couple guys from the open market and we'll be fine. Plus we have more than $18m cap room, and it should increase more with more restructures or June 1 cuts, etc..

Well we will want to sign some of them back mainly the better players, as I said guys from practice squad will be expected to step up, trading hardy seems like only option to me especially if we want a good free agency LT, can't afford to do everything

    • If we don't extend him, there is no way another team would offer him more than a one year $10m prove it deal lol.
    • He isn’t but looking at what those guys are getting paid, paying him what he’s making now wouldn’t have been terrible, they should have and still should be looking at pairing some guys with brown to form a pretty dominant d line
    • The Bryce hate is nearly laughable.  He looked like garbage the first two games, but has really, really shown improvement and growth.  People who know football are taking notice.  Will Bryce ever be Arron Rodgers, Farvre, Manning or any other hotshot gunslinger?  No, but I think he is a smart football player who has survived a lot more than most other QB's would have after 2.5 years.  So long as this injury doesn't linger I think you will see legitimate growth over the next two years, with a big leap coming next season. Reich and Brown not working together, Duce causing trouble behind the scenes.  Starting WR's of Mingo and Chark.  No legitimate scheme for the OL.  Fitterer's general incompetence. An owner who was desperate for attention.  How did Zac Wilson, Mariota, Winston, Tribuski, Rosen, Lawarence, Fields, Jones, Pickett, and Richardson fair after 2.5 years?  We see what happens when the Texans have not given Stroud the support. The 2018 draft had great talent, they just needed to mature, hell we wasted two of the top three drafted that year.  Outside of Allen, Mahomes, Jackson, Burrow, or Drake Maye, I'm not sure I really would want any other 1st round QB drafted in the past 10 years? RELAX......  Bryce is our guy as we grow as a team.  The only other option I currently see is maybe a buy low draft pick on Drew Allar if he falls to the third round or lower. Bryce is going to be extended.  He won't get Prescott money which would benefit our team going forward.  A mid range extension like Darnold or Baker got may be just the thing this team needs to keep growing.
