1yr 4.5 is not peanuts..Nicks trying toprove its not the highest he can get...wow...not good

Word on twitter is it was a 4 year deal worth 4-5 a season on average.

I really don't see him getting more then that, but if he does let's not act like the offer was garbage.

Long time Panther fan here, but new to the board.. I was curios as to what others thought our back-up plan could be if we do miss out on Nicks.. Would anyone be in favor of picking up a mid level receiver like James Jones or Santonio Holmes, and then selling out in the draft to find some way to pick up Sammy Watkins.. I know the likelihood of this happening is about 0.1%, but what would be the reaction to this scenario??

It would involve a first round pick next year and IMHO there's zero chance of that happening. According to the trade value chart, it is "possible" to trade our first and second to Dallas at 16 for example if by some miracle Mike Evans fell, or our first and third to Green Bay at 21 to get Lee/Beckham/Z. Martin, or our first and fourth to Cleveland to move ahead of New Orleans for whoever in case we believe they will take our guy.

IMHO a VERY small chance of any of those trades happening for numerous reasons. Watkins? Forget it.

      Any idea what happened to him at LSU? im reading that he was considered a 1st round pick in 2023, had an off 2024 season with only 4 sacks but was also on a horrible FSU team then went to LSU where he was supposed to be on an aggressive defense that should have given him a lot of sacks but he only ended up with one….   was he injured? Did the top SEC competition expose him? What happened? Cause this guy was considered a top prospect .

      Sometimes its fun to read the threads/posts.  The panthers could literally hire a groundskeeper and we'd have a thread "improving the field for no other reason to prop up Bryce Young".  Apparently no move is ever done to actually make the team better.  All a conspiracy to just focus on Bryce Young. Or suddenly daydreaming and reminiscing about Sam Darnold when he was hated more than Bryce Young.  Its really fun to do a message board search about Darnold during that time period.   Or thinking there is just a tree that grows QB, and you can just easily go up and pluck one.

      Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
