Getts made an offer I assume. DR has to find a better offer. That might not be too easy.

we are among the bottom in the league for cap space.

we can't compete with any interested teams. if no teams are interested enough to compete, then why are we other than just simply being desperate (which we are).

Who are the other interested teams? If Getts ups his price then that is being desperate. Do you think he will do it?

Now its D.Rosenhaus as his agent (P.O.S). Told you don't believe it till its done.On twitter via J.P.

Seems like AZ has not even made an offer and are not planning on making an offer to retain Cason, and considering the fact that he barely started or played that much with them last year, I do not see another team snatching him from our grasp. Most teams are still looking for WRs and Olinemen. I don't know why he switched agents, but I imagine he will still visit Carolina, and probably sign.

The good thing is that the lack of WR depth is not gonna keep defensive players from playing here. Especially those who play CB or S. With as nasty a front 7 as we have, I imagine that Carolina is a very attractive place to play if you are in the secondary, and even more so if you are planning on signing a short, cheap deal (like Mitchell did) to have a great year (easy with our dline and linebackers) and get paid by some other team willing to waste cap space on a longer, more $$$ guaranteed deal.

    • Why would we not be contenders? As long as Bryce plays like he did when he came back, we absolutely can be contenders...that is...   if the defense plays better... which is why adding someone like Ramsey when we have a QB on a rookie deal and can afford it makes sense IMO. No one thought of the Commanders being contenders last year or the Texans the year before and so on and so forth. Top-end QB play, especially for a guy on a rookie deal, changes everything in terms of timelines. Regardless of what this board thinks, I hope the front office is willing to he aggressive in thks window we currently have with a rookie QB deal
    • Would absolutely love to have him. I dont think he would require more than a 5th rounder. The biggest thing with his contract is the amount of guaranteed money. As long as they can work out and scenario where the Panthers aren't on the hook for a lot of that, I think it's a no-brainer. The Panthers can come up with $20M at the drop of a hat with restructuring Moton's contract, so there definitely isn't an issue from a money perspective. Jaycee paired with Ramsey along with Mike Jack would give us one of the best CB groups in the league. The one caveat I see is that safety still remains our biggest current weakness. We need a starting caliber S more than CB, simply put. But adding someone like Ramsey would be amazing as long as the compensation made sense. Ramsey could also play for FS snaps also. I also dont understand this nonsense about being seasons away. We have a QB on a rookie deal who was playing at an elite level to end last season. Within reason, now is absolutely the time to make moves like trading for Ramsey.
    • He'd be a huge upgrade for this year, but we're still not going to be contenders with him and I'd rather keep the cap space to roll into next season to spend on a younger player who can be an impact starter for us for the next 3-5 years while we're hoping to contend.
