Cotchery as #1 WR or Bell at starting LT or rookies starting at both positions

These are the 3 most likely scenarios we're looking at in 2014. This is sad. A camp casualty or late free agent signee becoming our starting left tackle or #1 receiver is possible, but I wouldn't consider it "likely". Rank these 3 in order of "best" scenario to worst.

1. Cotchery and Underwood at WR, rookie 1st rounder at LT

2. Rookie and Cotchery at WR, rookie 1st rounder at LT

3. Rookie and Cotchery at WR, Bell at LT (any scenario with Bell as our starting left tackle is a doomsday/nightmare scenario)

Not considering Cotchery and Underwood at WR with Bell at LT, because I see no way we don't draft a WR or T with our 1st rounder.

What's your ranking?

I dont see how we can run it well enough with Bell as LT and the current cast of linemen to hide cotchery and a rookie WR. it seems to me that a rookie LT would make the biggest impact from day one.

I just don't see a day one starter at LT available with the 28rh pick. The only way to get one would be trade up into the top 5-10. So Bell has pretty much locked down the LT spot, might look to improve RT with a prospect that might be able to make the switch to LT after a season or two.

Hence why I've been saying first round had got to be either secondary, Te or Wr.

Did an article say something about amini getting a shot at LT? Or was that speculation based on the fact he played the position in college. The fans act like we were completed caught off guard when gross retired. You have to know that the FO had some sort of backup plan in place when they basically turned his contract into a one year deal.

Pretty much have to leave amini at LG to help Bell with the transition.

Thats the plan if Bell is in fact the starter at LT. I'm probably wrong, but I thought I read he'd get a shot too. They seem pretty high in Chandler. And I kind of expect them to pick up some vets after training camp or even after the season starts. Think Wharton last year. Is it after week 1 or 2 when the salary isnt guaranteed?

I think we will count on Olsen and a highly drafted TE to help with the receiving and running game.  This will make our tackles better by default and they chip DEs. I think Bell will be on the left side but with Amini there it won't be as awful as people think.  Chandler will be the right tackle and Williams/Kugbila will be the RG.  I think this line will be okay not good.  I don't know who will be in the slot or out wide since we don't know who will make the opening day roster at this point.

If god is great we will Draft Moses at #28 and Matthews in the 2nd round and be skipping merrily along back to the playoffs.

Moses is a Rt for at least the first season though and that leaves Bell at Lt still. Like I said, Bell is the Lt unless the Panthers can trade into the top ten.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
