Lol that is a weak trip, also its gonna be hard to remind myself we are in white not red

Fortunately, the top 3 or 4 OTs in the draft are probably ready to start day 1. I really like the depth at OT. As much as it hurts, there is WAY too much risk to invest in Ekwonu or pencil him in for 2027. He will be diminished and any serious knee injury to a 330 lb man who uses those legs to fend off speed rushers. If he comes back, he is likely a guard. but the business side of this will be telling--about Morgan as much as the knee.

I love that

Well, cornerback could be another on that we have to act on. 2 concussions in the same year for Horn, worrisome. We could have lost 2 1st round entrenched starters forever in that one damn game. That is possible.

Evero's scheme is an impediment to excellence from where I'm sitting. It waters everything down from pass rushing to stopping the run.
-
I don't know that there is a huge difference, but that Scourton got way more opportunities. If you want to say that Umanmielen is more outspoken and brash, then fine. Perhaps a little humbling is in order, but they both need to improve their craft. Hopefully experience will help them to do it, but Evero's scheme doesn't look to be doing either one of them any favors.

4th seems to be about the cut off point, and even those are rare. Tackles can sometimes hit in the later rounds of day 3, more so than an edge rusher will.

Svech for 300

Agreed. I think being HC is more about being leader than being a top quality DC or OC. Very few HCs can perform the HC and coordinator duties. His job would be to manage the guys under him, not design a defense week in and week out.

Pass rushers absolutely can't be found in any round. That's the reason we don't have one.. out side QB pass rushers is the second most important position.
-
It definitely seems like Evero is one of teppers favorites

Evaros scheme isnt a great fit for Princley. He needed to be brought in on third downs and allowed to just pin his ears back

Yeah I bet if you did a deep dive I lot of the times he doesn't let it rip is when XL is on the field -

His write up of the team is accurate in the vacuum of Saturday's game. It's not even close to accurate in the context of watching this team all season. If the Falcons hire an offensive coach or strong OC, keep Kirk Cousins the starter, and stay healthy, they will win this division by at least 3 games next year. -
2026 Panthers Free Agents… who you keeping and who can walk
DeadpoolPanther replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Coker Moore or Tremayne. Mays. Brady and Corbett or at least one or the other. Rozeboom Simmons and Jansen. Should be able to go after a top defensive free agent. -
Former safety just like Thomas Davis

I agree with you, but roster development has to be the hardest thing in pro sports. Its never cut and dry, and even without Ickey getting hurt we would still be in this situation. You dont draft out of necessity, you have to take the best players avaliable and at 19 it looks like there will not be any top defensive players (maybe a CB will fall to us) avaliable. Plus Moton has 1 year left probably, then what? And what if Ickey never comes back to be the same guy? And it wasnt like he was a steel wall over at LT anyways to begin with, but he was good. Just food for thought... Plus just to play devils advocate, our defense statistically was better than our offense this year. Some would even say our defense was the reason we made the playoffs

I saw that, but I also saw that PFF had Scourton listed with 8 sacks which just seems wrong lol or at least everywhere else I saw had him at 5 sacks. They also had him with wayyyy more pressures than I saw elsewhere so I dunno it just seems sus.

A three year extension only to cut him a year afterwards. But guess what? He got an extension with the Chargers earlier this year too.

I’m 70/30 on it leaning towards that as well. The 30% is the times I’ve seen him have chances down the field and he just checks down. Could also be confidence in the receivers he had in those scenarios as well. -
Bryce Young is the worst QB in Panthers History
electro's horse replied to dep's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bryce couldn’t beat the patriots when they didn’t even have a defensive coordinator. Terrell Williams had to step away from the team for cancer treatment that week. bryce on a worse team without an offense built around his limitations isn’t winning anything like he can’t run a passing offense based on play action under center, he’s certainly not going to succeed with monken at OC. also Herbie is expected to actually make reads and progressions while Bryce just does what the voice in his ear tells him. -
Most Panthers fans seem to be in agreement that we could and should upgrade Evero. But I do think there is an aspect that differentiates Princely from Scourton beyond snap counts. Princely got humbled to a degree in his rookie season. Hopefully he takes that to heart appropriately and uses it constructively.

This Bryce Guy (General BY Discussion)

Guys can you give cliff notes for the people who don’t want to listen to two grown men yelling at each other. -
Why does it seem Evero has more pull than Canales? Tepper lining up his next interim HC to possibly hire as HC (Wilks 2.0)

Nijman is actually one of the better free agent left tackles available in free agency and he will get a chance to start next year. He will get a raise and likely be re-signed. Christensen backs him up and they should sign another veteran tackle and/or draft a 2nd or 3rd round tackle as well. Zavala and Corbett need to go so they should also draft a guard. I’ve suggested they should trade down in the first round to accumulate more picks for depth they are going to need a lot of going forward.
