I mean we haven't had a winning season in going on 8 years we have had the worst win percentage in all of sports the last few years and we spent most of last summer arguing with each other on whether to be hyped or cautiously optimistic. To the point he was trying to moderate the discourse all throughout training camp. The staff then decided to hold the starters out of preseason until the very end and we started off the season with two of the ugliest losses in franchise history. Yet apparently in his mind the problem is....the fans who are justifiably apprehensive to buy the hype again before seeing some consistency in actual games? I don't see anything remotely unreasonable about it and it certainly doesn't make anyone any less of a fan or inferior to someone else unless that someone is mentally ill.

I get defending the human and expressing empathy for his circumstance but discussing him in the context his career choices where people are selected for their violent tenancies isn't really the place to got "but the consequences of his violent career..." it’s really just the ones who want Bryce gone and never want him in a Panthers uniform, ever, regardless of how well he does. Those who are hopeful for Bryce doing well have an optimistic slant on the season. The incessant Bryce knockers, the never Brycers, don’t see the season amounting to anything. It’s weird psychology.

I will say this. I am far from sold on this defense. If it comes together like their plan/vision, then yes, there will be something to be excited for, because our offense is built to hold the ball and score. We dobt need the defense to be elite. Although it does need to be above average at take aways if this team is going to be successful this season.

Cautiously optimistic. Bryce’s tenure has been 20% feast and 80% famine. I was all in for Bryce at first then I sunk to he’s done and now my arrow is moving to positive again but remain in the just at wait and see mode. I feel pretty good about the staff and better about the roster so hoping we see an uptick. Team was playing very competitive football to end last season and a 5-12 team energized a downtrodden fan base with many wishing there was a week 19. Could be in a better spot but the spot we are in is better than expected so I’ll take it.

5tds. Zero interceptions. Every single one of you should be downright giddy of Bryce Youngs true potential. If our defense can be at least, average, this team is going to knock the fug out of some teams.

Hype away..... it is the dead space between mini-camp and training camp. The hype is for fans. Players know that you have put in the work and by all reports they seem ready to do it. After all, the last few years the only hype we got was early as we sucked down the road. It is sad panthers fans can't enjoy the hype for fear it isn't going to work out.

Funny how some of the loudest voices now "cautioning optimism" were the same ones spending all last offseason trying to smother any hope or support...

so calling someone crazy over & over & for some odd strange reason that makes sense to almost everyone ? & no of course i do not know what happened with this particular case and could really care less that's for the courts to figure out i do know that Greg Hardy has been exposed to a lot of repetitive head impacts throughout his football carrer which can lead or cause & often does in players such as Greg Hardy a progressive brain disease that becomes worse with time called Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy which would most definitely cause a person to have a viloent behavior ...just saying

I mean, I would rank the Panthers third in the NFC South right now. That is the floor. Penix and Atlanta have been trending upward--I think Tampa is due for a letdown.

I think we always do, but I think Morgan is showing signs of being special. I am optimistic about our rookie edge rushers. Maybe we are too hyped about TMac, but I am really warming up to him nd think he could be special. I think we win 9 based on the fact that we won 5 last year and were only competitive for about half of it.

The cap also went up more than everyone thought which hurts us. Now more teams have space and aren’t pressed to shed salary.

My expectations for this upcoming season are higher than last season. That said, I can only see playoffs with a lot of things lining up. We need enough of these young players to make a meaningful impact, we need others in our division to falter, and most importantly, we need some luck in keeping this unit relatively healthy throughout the season. At full strength, this team has potential to be scrappy good but we don't have the margin of error others teams do.
