If he can't bounce back after getting hit over the middle from a player half his size almost a year ago, then that's on him.
-
It's early and he's got time until he doesn't. It's just absurd at this point. One day in the near future he'll be done in the NFL. And everyone will talk about it in retrospect like they knew he was a bust.

Complementary Football, or: How to Lose a Game
Evil Hurney replied to theinstrumental's topic in Carolina Panthers
My read is they intended to try and get points but that first run and usage of the clock was done to hedge against things going poorly. Basically they shouldn't need all that time to score since they had multiple timeouts. Dirting that second play put us in a no-win situation. Sure you can run on 3rd down but ARI had timeouts so they still likely get the same result. -
Anyone catch Adam archuletta referring to him as a “young qb” like bitch this is year three players are in the Super Bowl by now.
-
I never said he had a good game in the Denver game. As you said we had a good first drive ending in Bryce throwing a slant to XL for a TD. It was garbage time but the back shoulder throw to Coker for the late TD was a great throw. Throws like these in bad games are why I say he "can" do it and has the physical tools. The question is can he do it consistently, continue to improve, grow and become our QB of the future. Up to this point that was a hard no but with a new head coach and Bryce in his 2nd year it was 100% the right call to play out the year and see if he got better. He did. Two games into this year is still more of the up and down quality of play and coaching but there is still plenty of potential and we have 16 more games to decide if it's worth it to continue down this path. I don't know what will happen but I know cutting him or benching him now makes zero sense on any level. I said of those last 10 games we were only blown out in 2 of them. I'll concede the Denver game was a blow out. So 3 blowout loses and 7 competitive games, 4 of which we won, all decided by less than a TD. Sounds like a team growing, improving and getting better. All I want to do is see where that leads and if those examples of starting NFL level quarterbacking can continue to improve and become more consistent. Anyone with pride would retire? Laughable. Do all of you quit in your daily lives every time things get tough or don't go your way?

I think Canales gets fired during the '26 season, and we don't want to replace a GM and a coach in the same year. Fire Evero and Morgan this year. The new GM can fire Canales at the end of next year and pick his replacement.

The league should give us a miniature Lombardi if we manage five wins.

So weird that even with the most “productive” quarter of Bryce’s career they still can’t get over 22 points. some weird magical number

Who are the top QB prospects for the 2015 draft?
45catfan replied to Panthero's topic in 2015 NFL Draft
@ForJimmy--I watched his '24 highlights and there's a lot to like. He's mobile, for certain, but it seems that's his default because he's so good at it. Lots of RPO stuff. He's slippery in the pocket, but too quick to vacate it. I saw very few pocket throws into tight windows, which is the hallmark of an elite QB, especially at the next level. Green is a playmaker, there's no denying that. I thought his arm was adequate to above average. I assumed a big QB like that would have a cannon. Ball placement was also above average. He's an intriguing prospect, but I'm not sure he's going to end up a top 10 prospect and that's where we are most certainly going to be picking. If Sellers doesn't come out, he's probably the next best dual threat QB. -
I was right there with you. I hoped for the best and tried to support once he was drafted. But the media created legend of Bryce Young the draft prospect was honestly like nothing I've ever seen. For a kid who didn't even play all that particularly great for Alabama (Mac Jones was the better college QB and it really wasn't close) he received an insane level of benefit of the doubt. From his supposed elite football IQ elite processing elite preparation elite field general abilities elite leadership yada yada the guy could do absolutely no wrong. Even when he showed up to the combine and hid out in a hoodie refusing to throw nobody batted an eye. And even after that he was still compared to current and past hall of famers in the NFL and other sports across the spectrum. If he didn't play for Saban and Alabama it would have been and would be right now completely different in the way he was and is perceived. But again. I've never seen anything like it for other prospects that I can think of in recent memory. Others have been dissected in some way or another. Maybe the only other comparison I would make would be Andrew Luck. But Luck had the necessary physical intangibles that Bryce Young very plainly lacked when you sit down and watch the tape. It was crazy then and it is still crazy now.

Yeah I didn’t remember how many guys were on offense besides him that were taken but did figure he was facing one, maybe two guys that would be drafted from whatever defense it he was playing. Then the out of conference games against smaller schools that are basically exhibitions, sheesh, you know they can feast. The other thing is, out of those 62, how many really had NFL bodies at that point? Few of them. Most will be different players after a year of NFL training and body development. So you have to think about what the difference is. Even with the SEC guys that got taken, they will be better in the pros too. So when you factor all that in, and look at the Bryce tape and the Bryce pro day and whatever, I just will never understand why.

Call up DeAngelo Williams and tell him to run the wildcat.
-
The Card's DC should be fired for running prevent against Bryce. Why on earth would you back your guys up to defend parts of the field that Young cant even throw the ball to?
-
I for one am ready for the Bryce experience to be over. His limitations are mind numbing and will never change and all the talk about him being a super processor and point guard was just propaganda that Tepper fell for hook, line, and sinker. Put his soft ass on the bench and move on.

How will the Panthers prepare for Atlanta?

Kept on the sidelines for in between series. -
I Feel Bad For All of You - Thank God for Tetairoa McMillan
Gapanthersfan replied to tukafan21's topic in Carolina Panthers
A TRUE blue chip guy. A take a game over potential guy. It’s been a LONG time. -
It spins the opposite way with lefties too...so be ready.
-
The team goes as the QB goes. Bryces weaknesses are on display every game... as well as the OL's... the WR's, the freakin coach all have an input to suckage and they don't live up to half their potential..... and when you multiply that you have the sht we do. If Bryce was my 16 yr old grand daughter who just got her license I wouldnt get in the car with her..... Canales, green as fk, has to scheme around Bryces deficiencies all game.
-
Then he was never going to make it as a pro from the start
-
I wanted an offensive guy, but that guy for damn sure wasn't Frank Reich. I wanted Steichen or Ben Johnson. If we did go defense, I wanted to take a hard look at Ryans or Wilks. Can't ever remember thinking, damn I wish we had some of that Indy offense here in Carolina.

Yes, first drive was a good run, a sack and a 3/13 Bryce threw for 9. Then we punted. 2nd drive - 23 yard deep pass to XL (who caught it) - Great pass by Bryce and good catch by XL 26 yard Chuba run - Great run by Chuba 3 yard Chuba run - moving the sticks 6 yard pass to XL (who caught it again) - moving the stick 26 yard run by Chuba - love a balanced attack!!! great run 1 yard run from Chuba - moving the sticks Incomplete pass by Bryce. 5 yard TD pass from Bryce. - Good job by Bryce in the red zone. This was a very good series early in the game where Bryce, Chuba and the team played very well. No turnovers by Bryce. Chuba had a fumble in the 3rd. Next series: 4 yard run 24 yard pass 15 yard run 8 yard pass 1 yard run 2 yard run 3 yard pass 4 yard run 5 yard penalty Field goal good. Bryce did not have a very good 2nd half but not horrible either. He didn't make any mistakes that cost us the game. He had a 24 yard scramble and a TD pass to Moore called back because because of an illegal formation. That was and is positive progress so soon after he was benched. All around good team win and while Bryce didn't ball out he had a number of good throws and scrambles and didn't turn the ball over.

The defense doesn’t even matter, really. When we are down 3 scores before anyone has taken their first sip of Gatorade because the offense won’t stay in the field, what does any of it matter?
-
Ours or theirs?
-
I respect players like Eric Shelton who get hit one time and are like “yeah fug this.” it takes a lot to realize and accept you don’t belong somewhere and I think we all wish Bryce had that kind of insight.
-
We got that 5th year option now. That's why.
