A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise. Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.

Eight of Bryce Young's nine wins have come off game-winning drives

I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency? I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand. -
Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.

The Jets and Bill's are statistically worse

I think they split the Saints, beat the Jets, and pull another win out of their ass for 6. Whether thats good enough or not for Bryce, Canales etc, who knows
-
So I don't know. 1/4 is 25% but sure let's say that grade doesn't matter and he gets a 6. But ... Dude makes history. Beats a team to a pulp. Carries an offense over and over. And his final grade is... Average? I just don't see it. Seems a fundamental flaw with the pff formula.
-
Good stuff
-
Cowboys are 25th in rushing defense giving up 10 yards more per game.
-
Okay sure. An 82 rushing grade is, according to pff, bottom of a "good" tier. See below: So in the end Rico "I made history on Sunday" Dowdle has a 67 on the day. So he's on the high end of average. Not even above average. Just average. Now call me crazy or say I don't understand PFF, if you want. But I'd call Ricos rushing elite, and his overall play at minimum... Good.
-
Have you consulted with PFF to ensure who was really the best player on the field?
-
Already have the highest paid o line by a significant margin and still gotta resign a young LT. Then gonna have to pay QB later who is gonna want more than everybody. Lmaooooo....panthers.

See Daniel Jones.

This has to be bitached about, those biased refs

I loved the Dalton Schultz "his momentum had stopped so it wasn't a fumble even though he wasn't close to being down" BS back in 2021. -

Who remembers the night game against Dallas when maybe Romo was a new starter, and the obvious tackle on Drew Carter before the ball arrived, no PI call, changed the whole game. Thinking 07 maybe? -
Moton isnt going anywhere. We just gave him a 2 year 44 million extension with 40m guaranteed.

Absolutely, and I would hope that someone smarter than me is making that ultimate decision. He has been better than ok, despite the shortcomings. Top half of the league, top 20ish. The unfortunate trend is every off-season seems to feature the next highest-paid player at their position. If I had to go on a hunch, we will pay him what he wants, because of everything that doesn't equate to his performance on the field. I don't think I would lose sleep over it, again it's not my money or choice, but he isn't worth that kind of deal.

Might aswell put an asterisk beside last year's Superbowl winners if a running back cant be the best player on the field
-
back to back 200 yard rushing games with half our OL out i think we are seeing some results bro

Commanders run a college offense and it’s working. They never huddle, never under center, rpo every other throw. I would like to see how Daniels does in a traditional offense

It’s time to discuss DANimal Morgan as our GM
Stuart Smith replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I do not know how much the G.M.’s trust their college scouts and their opinions. However, I think it is worth noting that there has been some changes in our college scouting in the last two years. Sometimes that can be more important than we realize. -

Panthers beat them at home in 2018 too in a game I really don’t recall being that rigged but there’s so many examples of refs just gifting the cowboys bullshit calls. Even in 2021 I remember them missing a fumble when they played in Dallas -
Rain game on grass, miss those days
-
Daniels cost the Commanders a win with that fumble.
-
Wow I can't believe the Bears got that one
