The half-dressed guy who got on the field had more yards than the Pats. -
Not sure I want to pay a king's ransom for him. Back to back years now where he has missed games because of injury (yes, I know it is debatable that the Raiders intentionally benched him to tank this season). Would I love to have him, sure. Is 1 very good pass rusher gonna make us a Superb Owl contender, no.

For free agent QBs, I think you have to look at a cheap vet. Mariota would be ideal, but I could see him being pretty costly. Tyrod Taylor is somebody I wouldn't mind. Trubisky and Zach Wilson are also worth a look.

Who is going to take a shot at Malik Willis

I just can’t believe he was a 1st rounder. Albeit pick 32 but ooof. Who knows, maybe he turns it around but there’s something that is so off with him.its his whole games… His pace, lack of short area quickness, poor awareness, a lot of stuff that going into year 3 is pretty much make or break. It’s wild because our FO seemed soo intent on the guy but he really doesn’t fit with the team well. I just don’t see a guy that positive when you put him in. You hold your breath when he’s the first or second read.

good point. 6.5 it is but if they roll Yosh out there week 1 as LT then I get the opportunity to move it down

NFL.com mock draft: Panthers trade up for Reuben Bain
Bear Hands replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I would be indifferent to the trade honestly. Unless we’re landing a 3-down guy somehow via trade, edge rusher is a huge hole that has a trickle effect when bad/good. Critical position, so if we think there’s a legit immediate starter talent then it is tempting. Gut says to stand pat and target an ILB if value aligns. But I have a strong inkling that and OL are getting addressed at minimum FA. Problem is, edge rusher is sparse as hell in FA. If Bain is within reach, I wouldn’t be mad. But I always prefer an even pick package swap. IE send a 1st, 3rd, gain a higher 1st, 5th type thing. -
The Hornets should have been more aggressive about the Center position at the trade deadline. Instead we're making moves like giving Connaughton another contract.

And THEN... in the 2nd round, he has us picking Logan Jones, center from Iowa that most have going in rounds 4-6. I like the idea of drafting a center since we have so much cash tied up in our o-line, but is this really the right choice??? And let's not forget that we traded away our 3rd for Bain. -
They'll never land on a solid number they don't want the push it will either be 5.5 or 6.5

The difference was the SB MVP. I said it before halftime. The difference in that game was that Seattle had Kenneth Walker III and New England didn’t. That was the difference. Seattle established a strong rushing attack and New England couldnt run the ball. With no rushing attack to respect their pass rush was able to just tee off against an overmatched OL. -
We can debate his upside but Bryce has gotten better under Canales...RW and Baker are both gunslinger type QBs...it's not impossible that Canales could help Howell not always go for the home run throw. He's got the arm talent

I can't see us trading up, and I don't want to see it. I can't see any metrics that would support us trading up without losing too much value, so discipline will be the order of the day. -
With the Icky injury and Moton needing an heir apparent

I get ya. Really, I'm a best player available guy when it comes to picking where we are. And that is really what probably contributes to a lot of good teams being built for the long run, rather than those who find themselves regularly picking near the top of the draft. We've had our share of high picks... -
As a Penn State alum I was excited to see everyone return, truth is I think we came into the year a bit over confident coming off last season. Had a slow start and poor depth at LB once Rojas went down, and once Franklin was fired the season was essentially over. From a character perspective DDS is a 10/10 guy, hardworking and incredibly loyal. Nobody expected him to return for his senior year, but he did to try win us a Natty. He also played the entire bowl game this year against Clemson which is rare to see as a high end senior prospect.

Both of New England's TDs were scored when Maye went into "wing it and fling it" mode. As Deac said, when he did run, he ran well. And, while some of the criticism of Sam Darnold may be warranted, Super Bowl history is littered with QBs who didn't light up the scoreboard but still came away with championships. Matter of fact, ever seen the list of Super Bowl winning QBs who didn't even throw a TD pass? Namath SB3, Griese SB8, McMahon SB20, Aikman SB28, Elway SB32, Roethlisberger SB40, Peyton Manning SB 50, Brady SB53. -

Nope. Don't do that. We need an infusion of talent, not going all in one prospect. Especially a pass rusher. We already drafted two in the 2nd last year and they usually take 2-3 years of development. We should honestly try to add an impact vet there in free agent and focus elsewhere in the draft. We don't need more young developmental talent there. We have that. We need someone who can step in and add an impact day one. -
Im thinking 6ish
