He threw him the ball for 1 season 5 years ago. Y’all are legit crazy lol.

I know what XL is currently.. but I feel like I'm the only one here that wants XL to succeed.

Panthers signing WR John Metchie
Panthers Fan 69 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Just make XL full time punt and kick returner. Thats it. He can rely on his speed and athleticism and not have to think. -

What?!?! Say you think he can turn into something at some point, but this is a whole lot of praise for someone with less than 700 yards across 3 seasons of his career. If he was remotely close to being the 3rd best WR on our team right now, the Jets wouldn't have let him walk without tendering him the RFA offer.

With these FA moves, PFF guys don't know who to mock to us
Swaggasaurus replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
In this scenario I think it’s clear you take OT Proctor, OT Lomu, DT Banks, LB Allen, or LB Rodriguez in the first. No idea what the fug they were going on about in the video. We aren’t taking a WR, if we draft Miller, a RT only, I will shoot through my TV. Jacob Rodz doesn’t last past pick 40. -
I like it he played his role esp for somebody that came in late . Use to think he had so much upside when he was with the bears .
-
No doubt in my mind Goedert and Philly get a deal done
-
They'll see what he can bring in the slot, he lost 2 years of his "career" so far to an ACL and leukemia. Low risk, high reward with a WR who has played with BY and could be a poor man's AT who could improve or feel more comfortable in our offense. Not hating this.
-
Depth, NBD. Bring him in and see if we need him. Honestly Im starting to like not just our starters, but our depth across the board. Guys like him, Mitchell Evans, Camron Jackson, Demari Richardson, Jimmy Horn, Treymayne Edwards, and Corey Thornton are guys that wont JUMP off the page at you, but to have a successful team you need guys who can come in and play a few snaps and take pressure off, not starters.

I hated him as a Saint but I’d love him as a Panther

He kinda did at the end. Just saying. The force is not with you young padawan. -
Maybe he didn't want to come back? Heard he thought Tepper was a jerk.
-
Yeah he probably competes with Jimmy for that last WR spot.

Panthers signing WR John Metchie
Navy_football replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
This isn't a nothing signing. Honestly think Metchie is at least the 3rd best WR on the team. He's been put in some difficult situations with deep WR rooms in Houston and Philly. And the QB room in NY was not good last year. He'll be the biggest separator on the team. Reliable hands. NFL speed. And... history with the QB. He'll make the team and hopefully unlock some trust in BY to throw deep more often. Think he can return kicks too. -
The running back room isn't set yet. There's still a draft and training camp to get through.
-
You guys do know that the team will be signing and even drafting more wr's before camp right? By the time camp rolls around there could be a dozen receivers on the team. This signing means nothing.

For a little clarity on this: If Goedert's contract were to outright void, the Eagles would be saddled with a $20.5M dead cap charge in 2026. If an extension is signed before Friday's deadline, that $20.5M of void cap will be allowed to remain spread out as per the previous deal. This is what a new 1 year, $10M contract for Goedert would look like on the books ($10M of cap savings). https://x.com/spotrac/status/2031860499487379477?s=46
-
Dallas Goedert was not listed as a free agent by the league. His void date has been pushed back to Friday, a league source told @TheAthletic. This procedural move would give both sides a chance to work out a contract extension. https://x.com/zberm/status/2031850746912608481?s=46

All this tunnel vision talk hahaha when he had two WRs finally playing well he fed both. He constantly targeted Thielen because that's all he had to rely on
-
Lets wait until we see the contract numbers before we start stressing over a guy who will be fighting for a roster spot. I assume it is probably little under 2 mil. Not sure what else out there we could grab if want to spend on a TE aswell maybe Tutu Atwell or Dyanmi Brown? Literally best guys left we could maybe afford is Darnell Mooney or Hollywood Brown.
-
I think this certainly had a huge impact on his production this far. If for no other reason, I’m 100% rooting for him to make the team
-
It happens, you've been crushing the last few days / weeks. I've got a call with my team in China in 20 minutes and then I'll dig into some night action after not liking / playing much today.

Panthers signing WR John Metchie

I feel no need to protect Bryce from his faults. -
FA Splash: Panthers sign Jaelan Phillips EDGE
rebelrouser replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well, we know that the Dolphins (exercised his fifth year option), Eagles (traded 3rd round pick for a guy w/ injury history of acl and achilles), and Panthers all thought he was worth the risk. Fingers crossed. -
Panthers signing WR John Metchie

We can always draft a WR. I think we are probably giving XL one more training camp and if he doesn't have it together by the trade deadline, he is gone
