Manziel Not Impressing

I've never seen a team draft a guy that they appeared to have a vendetta against from the start. It's almost like they said "yeah let's draft this guy and show him that he's not as good as he thinks he is."

That's because it's Cleveland. Just like they drove Lebron out of town and are about to do the same with Kyrie.

I remember people say Cam looked pretty bad throughout training camp as well. Then he killed it his first two games.

In preseason three - generally considered the most 'real' game - of his rookie year, Cam looked absolutely awful.

Two weeks later, different story.

is this a new way of judging a player, during rookie camp and OTAs? if so, i am old man and still need to players with pads making full speed contract. plus against better players too, not some players that will driving trucks in a few months.

ugh, whens the season start ?

This. Cam looked like poo during the preseason of his rookie season and it honestly looked like we might be looking at starting the season with Jimmy at QB again. Cam proceeded to throw for 400+ yards in his first two regular season games.

I'm not saying Manziel will replicated that success, I'm just saying that you can't judge too much right now either positively or negatively.

Am I the only one who finds it weird that Panthers fans seem so defensive regarding other young QBs in the league? We finally have a franchise QB folks! Embrace that! Who cares about the other guys?

Cam wasnt THAT bad I remember a few plays to where he flashed amazing potential, that run against the bengals comes to mind and he also threw a few passes that were very impressive as well even.if they werent completed

I didn't realize an NFL rookie could be declared a bust in May.

Well, to be fair, his moniker is Johnny Football---pegged back in 2012 to be a demigod of the NFL on Mount Olympus along with Brady, Unitas, Montana and Manning.

He was pretty damn bad.  I mean, most of the fan base was wanting him to start to get him some experience and to not have to see Clausen again, but no one expected him to bust out of the gates like he did.  Cam Newton having back to back 400+ yard passing games to begin his career after that preseason has to be one of the most shockingly positive things I can ever recall in all my years of following the Panthers.
