Dave Newton-Outburst aside...Norman having a great camp

...because combine results is always an indicator of how a person plays on the field.

I said nothing about his play, simply talking about pure athletic ability here. He's a below average athlete for an NFL CB. Pure and simple. When you're below average in all categories of the Combine, it's safe to say you're a below average pure athlete.

I dont think Newtons's opinions are any better than any other huddler. But I posted the article to show hoe perceptions of Norman vary. Did thinks Norman Will be cut as of right now. Dave thinks he can be a starter. Just something to debate and talk about. I for one am not ready to give up on him yet.

Why Norman thinks keeping your mouth is being a "puppet" is beyond me.  The only thing he could possibly accomplish  by trash talking is negative. I am very sorry that 2 years of bench riding and a player like TD getting in his face is not enough to convince him that he should reconsider his approach. How dumb is this guy?

I've been watching the 2012 season. He always seems to come into the picture just after the play ends. It looks like he avoids contact...every once in a while he'll jump a route and take a chance and I think that makes him appear to be better than he really is. I thought I liked him before, but re-watching his rookie year and then watching him in preseason this year I've become very uneasy about him. Sorry, Josh, I think we need to cut you...

I have this terrible feeling if we cut him, he will go on to be a perrenial pro bowler elsewhere. Just this feeling I cant shake

Maybe a Pro Bowler for the *insert Arena League team of your choice here*

Norman was a guy I really wanted in the draft that year.  I was so excited that we drafted both him and Joe Adams.  Those worked out well.

I've held out hope for Norman, but at this point I think it's clear that he's just a knucklehead who's never gonna "get it".  There was a guy here on the huddle who had a friend on that Coastal Carolina team who warned us about this right after we picked Norman and he was attacked mercilessly.  He was right.

Would it be far off base to say if he respected authority, listened to veteran leadership, strived to play within the scheme and just took his trash talking propensity down a notch or two he'd be an unquestionable starting corner?

Exactly, and all those things that you just mentioned are NOT that hard to fix. I rather him be a knucklehead that needs to be humbled rather than a guy that just flat out sucks and has no ability worthy of being placed on the field. I would be way more frustrated if he was a high round pick not panning out. Nobody saw these character issues with him coming before we drafted him anyway, heard rumors but nothing concrete. He seemed legit. Some guys come into the league with their head up their ass and then go threw the humbling process but it can also be vice versa with certain players as well. I think Norman will get it soon.

    • I used to think Juan was a Zod alt. Agree he's a great poster.
    • Hawks said nah we good and sent him to the shadow realm aka the Wizards. Cold blooded. I mean they're 2-2 in a series with a young up and coming Knicks team largely through 34 year old CJ McCollum. Even if they ultimately lose the series at least they are there and have something to build on. I think Hornets fans are just beaten down and lack the objectivity to assess the situation. They think we are going to get so much worse if and when we finally change gears. Worse how? We've already been a lottery team for years now. We've already been looking to win our first playoff series in about a quarter century. We already can't get past the play in and in failing to do so we have completely embarrassed ourselves twice looking like we don't even belong. Honestly there is absolutely no excuse for a team like the Magic to be more competitive and successful than us in the playoffs. Absolutely disgusting. But that's just me. I was fuging lit when we got the Hornets back in Charlotte but that is old old news. It's time for these boys to get into a playoff series. Enough is enough. If they can't do it for 2026-27 then they need to make wholesale changes regardless.
    • Not one single pick that is asking me why we drafted a guy in the first place. It was a guy we needed and/or a guy that had certain traits making them stand out. Best of all, I feel everyone we drafted are capable of stepping onto the field this year and have a meaningful role (even Kuwatch on special teams). Obviously, nothing is guaranteed but I'm not seeing any huge flags on guys because they're risky projects or massive overreaches.
