A Jonathon Stewart Stat...

@PFF: #Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart has forced 17 missed tackles this year (T1st with DeMarco Murray). On just 28 total touches

Although his yards may not be up there, he's literally doing as much as he can with what he's presented with. The line has not done a good job with opening lanes for him. His TD run was a thing of beauty, I've loved watching a healthy Stewart play so far this year.

We need to stop trying this smashmouth running and try to run out of some spread sets where we aren't telegraphing our intentions.  Until our Oline proves its capable of lining up and bulldozing a defense we should stop running plays that require them to do so.  Hopefully once they get a few games under their belts things will improve but at this point it really looks like wishful thinking every time we call a running play right up the middle.

Amini coming back from season-ending injury, Byron and Nate switching positions, and a rookie being rotated in and out with Fernando.

Facing Pro-Bowler DTs McCoy week 1 and Donkey Kong week 2.

Plus Cam being banged up, Buc and Lion coaches naturally loaded 8 men in the box to take away the run and make us beat them with Derek's arm and then Cam's arm at less than 100% with all new WR crew (except Olsen)

No wonder our run game up the middle has been rough, and not much more daylight on the perimeter, either.

    • The last 8 weeks, Nix had 2,022 yards, 21 TDs, 6 INTs on 70% completions While Bryce's last 8 games he had 1,709 yards, 12 TDs (albeit adding 5 more rushing), 3 INTs on 61% completions. I'm not going to pretend I watched those Broncos games to know exactly how Nix actually looked, but in retrospect, his statistics were better.  Hell, in just his final 8 games, Nix has only 5 less TD passes than Bryce has in his 30 game (28 starts) career. And you said he had better WRs than Bryce did, but I'm not even sure that's even true either. Sutton and Thielen might be completely different types of WRs, but I'd say they are pretty equal on effectiveness if not even a slight edge to Thielen (63.6 YPG for Sutton to 61.5 for Thielen).  Then XL and Coker vs Marvin Mims and Devaughn Vale, again, at worst a push, if not lean in our favor there too. Why is it so hard for some Panthers fans to just objectively look at our team/Bryce and be honest with themselves. ? He was significantly improved the final two months of the season from his first season and a half.  But he was still a below average QB during that time, even if he had a few good throws and clutch moments.
    • The Canes physically dominated 2 of the top 16 teams in the league this calendar month. If you truly believe Florida is just that much more physical than us, then what does that say about the rest of the league? Why didn't they go 82-0 this year, if they are orders of magnitude better than every other team?
