Chances Riverboat Ron gets Canned ?

Just wondering what everyones thoughts are - if we go sub 500 for the season what are actual chances a change is made by G man and JR ?  I know its easy to pin the blame on the coordinators or number of players on IR and or strength of schedule, but it all comes down to the head coach.  As much as I don't want us to get into the habit of revolving coaches, and much as I like RR on a he's a good guy level, I really don't think we have any chance of sustained year in year out success with him.

I'm in favor of changing coordinators first (particularly the OC).  If Ron wants to be the laid back, players head coach that's fine, but if that's the case, he needs to have coordinators that are more intense.

I really want to see what we will do with the OC. Never been a big fan of Shula but in a league that is catering to offense, we need to get someone that can take us to the next level.

I thought we had this discussion already.  oh well, no Rivera will not be canned. he has an extension.  Gettleman isnt going to fire the coach when he knows he wasn't given what he needed succeed this season

The front office obviously has a plan and firing RR a year after giving him an extension isn't part of it.

While its easy to see that Rivera has made a few mistakes, he has not just been awful.  If anything Gettleman should take some heat for the DB's and OL but in the end no one should be fired at this point.

My thing is, what are the chances we are going to get an offensive guru at OC, if Rivera stays head coach?  If Rivera stays, I believe everyone stays, including our current OC.  Will they go out and get offensive help in free agency?  Will they look for a real LT?  All those things are question marks with Rivera's crew.

Rivera Year 2: 7-9 (2nd in NFCS)

Rivera Year 3: 12-4 (NFCS Champs - 2nd round playoff exit)

Rivera Year 4: 3-3-1 (1st in NFCS)

 

We're trending upwards in all the stats that matter and we're now in a 2 horse race to be back to back NCFS champs for the first time in history.
