I can't believe how spoiled our fan base has gotten in one off season. We went from expecting 20-25 point loses (didthebobcatswinlastnight.com) to expecting to go 88-0. Chill out for a minute and look at what we have done so far.

In all 3 games, we have had a shot at the end to win the game or force OT. In game 1 we rallied from 24 down. In game 2 we took possibly the best team built to beat us down to the wire. Oh by the way Memphis is 4-0 and winning convincingly over other teams.

In game 3, we just continued our sloppy shooting. Our biggest problem right now is our shooting %. When those shots start to fall, teams will have a tougher time colapsing on Al and floor space will be much improved. Lanes will open up for Kemba and Lance. The world will be a better place.

I don't think it's inappropriate to be upset at the end of a close game. Hornets will be fine. Also just because someone is upset with a play call or someone's play one game doesn't mean they are turning on them. Did Clifford turn on lance after game two? No, he just expects more and knows lance isn't playing his best.

Yeah, I have to agree, the expectations are a complete 180 from the Bobcats days...

That being said, we had a HUGE offseason.  Signing Lance, Marvin, Roberts, extending Kemba, and having the best draft we have ever had in terms of potential and fit for needs.  So, obviously, expectations are that we're a much better team than last seasons.  And we are...  but, patience grasshoppers.  I even have to remind myself.

And look at it like this...  Those record-setting horrible teams, like the one during the shortened season, started out hot as fire and then didn't win for like 18 games, lol.

The thing with close losses is that there was a play here or there that you can pin them on and say, "If that didn't happen, we win."  So, it's frustrating...  And the other thing with these early games is that we've only seen our Big Three play like they should together for like a grand total of 5 minutes gametime total.  We know we're better, but again, we have to give them time to mesh.

It's frustrating to see us repeatedly settle for jumpers and watch them miss. The reality, though, is we only have one player built to operate in the paint. Maxiell is hot garbage, and Biz doesn't play (he's even more inept offensively than Maxiell). If we don't start hitting jumpers, it may not get better.

Just win tonight!!!!!!!

Mr. 12 million a year better show up tonight.

Plz stop with this crap. I get that you don't like the deal, but you and SuperJ hijacking every GameDay thread to update every time Kemba misses a shot or turns the ball over or doesn't make a game winning shot is already tiring and it is only been 3 games.

We can all now just assume you don't like the extension and you think Kemba sucks.

You bring a lot to the Hornets forum so I appreciate your input, but reading nothing but hyper critical posts about Kemba is getting annoying.

    • I would say that he's pulling things out of his ass to get people to visit his site.
    • Yep. I was hoping for and calling for a day three guy. But I didn’t research the position to say if we should or should‘t have jumped at a particular guy at a particular spot.    And everything I read said it was a poor draft for RBs depth wise. I guess when Seattle takes a backup RB in the 1st, that kind of backs that up.    I definitely think we should keep 4 running backs and if King can play well enough then keep him too.    I believe I heard Canales say we are a running team (talking about drafting a WR he will be needing to block as well as catch). Well if we are gonna be a running team by identity we don’t need to stock the WR room to overflowing. If one room has to sacrifice, it should not be the RB room given our circumstances.
    • If there's a pattern I'm definitely picking up from Dan and company is a philosophy of making trades where we try not to sacrifice the number of draft picks we have by day's end. In other words, we're not giving up three picks for one, or giving up a future pick to make a pick today. And even if we give up something at the start, we make trades later to make up for that initial loss. Here's how it stacked up for 2026: How we started: 19, 51, 83, 119, 158, 159, 200 How we ended: 19, 49, 83, 129, 144, 151, 227 (no future picks sacrificed) Ultimately, we moved up two spots in the second to ensure we got someone we coveted, gave up a few spots for our fourth round pick, but then had better picks in the 5th (and got really good value out of them), and had a worse 7th rounder which isn't that big of a loss anyways.  At this point, we can question who they draft, but they're pretty good maneuvering across the draft board.
