Adrian Peterson pleads no contest, gets no jail time

 Just heard this on NFL AM... hopefully there's someone who can explain why Hardy can't or won't do this, assuming he's guilty of the charges against him. Can certainly understand why he wouldn't if he's innocent.

Hardy could've just pled guilty to his misdomeaner charge and been back in games by now. To some people it's not just about that, it's about actual justice.

Thank you, Harris.  If he inflicted the same amount of damage to another human being, it would be assault and battery and he would be convicted and sentenced to jail + sued. Our laws treat children like property.  One idiot on a recent thread said, "Now the gov't is trying to tell us how to raise our kids..."  You can't unintentionally get that stupid.  Good comment.

It is really a demographic/cultural thing...in Peterson's mind he probably didn't view it as wrong.

You know how many of the sweet looking elderly people you see at church or around town whipped the poo out of there kids with a switch? Lot of them probably went overboard once or twice too. We discipline different now as a society but some still carry it on.

The one incident alone doesn't make someone a monster IMO. Whatever else there is to AP will determine his destiny IMO

You can't assume he's guilty.  From everything I've read, it's HIGHLY unlikely he's guilty.  If I were in the situation I wouldn't plea out or anything either.  If nothing else, it's the principle of the matter.  Not to mention the lasting effects beyond the immediate punishment.

More or less, however she's guilty of one more thing than he is.  Slander and making false accusations.

The only thing the NFL has proved this year is that if you pronounce yourself innocent and defend yourself, you will spend more time out of football than if you actually committed a crime.
