Our Coach Next Year should be Jimbo Fisher

Playoffs in his first year with nick foles. Had a top five offense his first year. Gtfo

Takes a year for the NFL to adjust to change. Top 10 O last year....

This year they turn it over more than any team in the NFL and are 20th in pts per drive

Why didn't I think of this before? This guy would be absolutely perfect to be our HC next year. He's helped both LSU and Florida State win national championships (being the HC of the latter), and he could win another one this year. He's an offensive minded guy, and he runs primarily pro formations. None of that read option gar-bage. Also on his resume, is helping JaMarcus Russell be a number one overall draft pick. If you can do that for Russell, you sir are an offensive genius!

Stating some more of the obvious, KB would fit right into his system, and Cam will flourish with the rushing attack his offense brings. So D-Will and Stew will be relieved to see the blocking fullback....back. Olsen would bring an added dimension to Fisher's offense however. I don't believe Florida State sport a good tight end that can catch the ball. So that would be interesting. All in all, Jimbo is the perfect coach for us. (Gettlemen would love him, as he wouldn't demand too much control over the players they bring in during the off season.)

First off as an fsu fan, you must not watch much fsu ball. With E.J Manuel they ran a lot of read option. Yes the run a lot of pro formations but the read option was strongly in place and your only seeing less of it now because Jameis isn't as good at running it.

That say why would you want to take away one of our most successful running plays? The read option is a powerful weapon for cam. The problem could be in the other moving peices. But I dont thin there is a better read option qb in the league.

But beyond that I think he would be a good fit. Guy grooms qbs and knows his stuff.

I do worry he likes to take control of the offense to much and call. His own plays which he isn't that great at.

And they lead their division and only have one loss. Oh and made mark Sanchez relevant again. Seems like the nfl isn't adjusting to well.

There were a lot of posters on this site that wanted nothing to do with him. He's been a success and I'd venture to say a lot of y'all don't want to own up to being wrong. It's ok I understand but good thing for you, you're wrong a lot more than you're right.

Really? The recent guys coming up from college have been fairing pretty damn well. Jim Harbaugh had immediate success, Chip Kelly's Eagles are doing pretty well, and Pete Carroll won the Super Bowl past year.

Fact is Pete Carroll was a NFL HC before going to college for a while and came back to the NFL after having good success with USC. So it ain't like Pete ain't been here before. But Pete has had success in college and pros no doubt. And yes Kelly has decent success so far and Harbaugh was given the keys to a already good football team. Less see how good he is when a lot of those players hit FA or retire in the coming years. Not all HCs from colleges work out in the NFL. Ask the Bucs or Miami. Those 2 teams gave it the old college try and well they failed plain and simple. Whether go with someone with a proven NFL track record for winning in the past. College was is a big gamble and could set this team even further back then it is right now.

Gotaaa look at whys...

Philly has been flukey this year. Chip Kelly offense isn't this dynamic machine in 2014..... They have won inspite of it wig crazy ST plays and defensive TDs. Chip Kelly has even bluntly addressed teams that function the way his offense has don't generally have the record they do.

Sanchez isn't relevant. Looked like Sanchez last week. ESPN and the likes doing typical what if pieces doesn't make someone relevant.

Set us back? Back from where? It's not like we're the Packers or Steelers with a long winning history. Other than a handful of seasons, we're perennial bottom feeders. Our "philosophy",under JR has been well proven to not lead to sustained success.

I am not ready to give up on Rivera.   I think Shula needs to go and I do believe we need a bright mind running our offense,   The defense seems to be getting better and Monday night will be a good test for us.

Whether a retread or a college coach you are taking a gamble that they will be better than what we have.   I think our issues have to do not enough tools in the shed just yet.

I believe (or hope) we can Shula and Rivera has one more year to show he can get it done.

THE OC is the problem not Rivera.

You could hire the hottest OC in the game.....and if a FO office gives him practice squad talent for the base of his offense. He isn't going to have success either

Maybe our front office should try equipping our solid coaches with well built football teams.....that seems crazy enough to work. Our biggest issues haven't been on the sidelines.

Oh no, I don't want to hear all that now. All I heard in the offseason was how Gettlemagic was a genius, and how we had the best depth, and how Cam was a top 10 QB, and how we had one of the deepest RB group, and how our current receivers were going to be better than last years, and how we had the best LB core in the league, etc.etc.etc.etc.

Truth is, coaching has been our biggest problem for 4 years now. Not having our team prepared for a game (especially after a bye), not making adjustments, getting off to slow starts, not knowing the situation, horrible playcalling, etc. Come on man, that excuse is weak. How is it that the Rams are competing harder than we are with lesser talent, injuries to star players, and a freaking undrafted QB? Keep on thinking that coaching isn't a major issue with this team.

    • Went to school in MD when this came out. Dance floor got CRAZY when this joint came on!
    • They had best show out in Week 1 there are zero,I mean zero,  excuses for that offense  defense, haven’t play together yet and they still have Mr Soft and Predictable as DC  I expect break downs at times  …but that offense returns all starters except Tremble and both Mayes and Brady are veterans and can play LG and know the system not up for any participation awards this season they can save that practice energy for Jacksonville.     I’m sick of the, winning,  or looking competitive, when it doesn’t matter.
    • There are some tough decisions that I'm eager to see the results of... Does Blackshear sneak on to the roster as RB4? Does the team go with 4 TEs or just 3 again? And has Mitchell Evans done enough to defend his roster spot from James Mitchell? Who is WR6 and is there a WR7? TMac, XL, Coker, and AT seem to be locks imo and I'm assuming Renfrow also makes it due to all of the camp praise. Who makes it between Brycen Tremayne, Jimmy Horn Jr, and David Moore? If the team goes with 7 WRs, which one of those three doesn't make it? Jacolby George and Emani Bailey both have not gotten a lot of game time. Could the Panthers be trying to hide them so that they can be stashed on the PS? Do they go with 10 OL instead of 9? Who makes it out of Walton, Carter, and Kingston? DL locks are DB, BB3, ARob, and Turk. That leaves Jaden Crumedy, Cam Jackson, Sam Roberts, Shy Tuttle, and LaBryan Ray all competing for the final 1 - 3 spots. Does DJ Johnson get IR'd and Thomas Incoom make the roster as EDGE5? What in the fuuuuuuuuuuuuck is going to happen at LB? Only locks seem to be Wallace, Rozeboom, and Cherelus (Wallace has mentioned in media how Cherelus has been big bro for him on the team). Rhattigan had some good moments against Houston, Martin-Scott is an SC guy, Krys Barnes has popped on defense and on special teams, and Windmon got time starting for the team last season. Are two of those guys going to make it or are the Panthers poaching from another team's cuts? CB5... who is it? Do they go with the 4 expected safeties or bring in a 5th? Has Ransom done enough to take the start from Nick Scott?
