Anderson against Tampa and Cleveland

I am actually all for Derek Anderson finishing out the regular season but I would love to see him get a chance to beat the team that gave him the bum rush. I always thought they did him some injustice. DA is a true pro and should start against Cleveland with Cam as backup.

I think he will prepare well for Cleveland but I just think he would have a little more motitivation to put the final nail in Cleveland's playoff hopes

If we are in position to win the division then we let Cam go into his hometown and Run Atlanta out of the playoffs.

I am super happy we don't have a Drew Stanton screwing things up for us.

if Cam can play against Cleveland, I want his a** in there, not DA.  No disrespect to DA, but the offense can do more with Cam.  If we lose on sunday, I don't care who plays qb for the rest of the year, but you cant jeopardize OUR playoff hopes just so DA can beat his old team.  Also, how many members of the regime that were there when DA was let go are still there?

Somebody said on the radio this morning that it would be a mistake to treat this in the same way that Romo's injury was treated, with him sitting out only a game. Romo is a pocket QB with a good o-line. Cam, even on days like this past Sunday when he is miraculously not sacked, puts himself in harms way much more often. I hope the coaching staff actually takes that into consideration.

Just got tickets to the Browns at Panthers game about a half an hour ago and I'm pretty stoked. First regular season Panthers game at BoA I've been to in 10 years.. The Week 17 Saints at Panthers game where John Kasay's long kick got blocked that would have sent us to the playoffs at like 7-9 or 8-8 or whatever. I'm hoping and praying for a different result this time around in a similar scenario.

Also I'm thinking we're gonna be all black for this game, so I'll get to see that live for the first time too.

Along with what you are saying, just cause he doesn't get sacked doesn't mean he will not get hit to the turf or pancaked.

I want to win all the next games but as long there is any question about Cam's  health,i want us to error on the side of caution. No way do i want to see Cam giving up his body, or taking hard hits, if his back injury is even a remote issue.

I'd agree with this but the only problem would be is if you're making Cam think about what he's doing then you're setting him and us up for failure.  Most of this game is instinct and feel, and if he's thinking too much and not doing what comes naturally, then he actually could end up in a situation where he sets himself up to get more injured.  It's such a cliche thing to say, but honestly you have to see how he is feeling and moving next week before thinking about which way to go.  That said, DA or Cam, I think we can win down the stretch.

    • Aho…come out and prove me wrong boy.
    • I mean, I hear what y'all are saying, but Derrick could have been positive without being negative.  He essentially accused people of not seeing Bryce's improvement because of their desire to not be wrong. He could've kept it about Bryce and the team. For example, he could've said: "Bryce has made strides, and we believe in him. This coming season, his continued improvement will turn a lot of people into believers."  That would've been supportive of his teammate and sent a message to the doubters. That being said, his tact almost summoned and left the door ajar for more skepticism. That's my take anyway. Bryce has improved from the bottom to perhaps skirting the line between the bottom third and mid-third at best...after three seasons. We've all seen it. Yay! In my mind, Bryce has still got a long way to go and a short time to get there, but my expectations are top five--at least top 10--always! Yes, I am a fan, so there's that, but I don't believe it's unreasonable to expect excellence. Hopefully the Panthers FO has the same mindset (and that doesn't even necessarily have anything to do with what we gave up to acquire him). That is the lens I'm looking through. Derrick Brown has his homer glasses on. He just needs to be more diplomatic and thoughtful with his words in my opinion, but I get it that he's a good teammate.
    • I have no doubt the Canes will come out like gangbusters, huge bounce back from game one - my only concern is Freddie, if he lets in a couple of softies and Dobes stays hot we could be in trouble.
