Goldie locks has to be benched immediately

Recommended Posts

The kid has been solid.... He had a slip up that eventually led to 7 points from the opponent. However, this was the time for him to learn from it... We have no one else to turn to with the injury to Philly Brown. All will be okay next week with Brenton Bersin..... Just have another sip of Jack Daniels and all will be okay homie...

is philly out confirmed next week?

You don't fix what he did (multiply times) in a week.........

In other words.................you can't fix stupid.

I honestly was really mad that he was still in the game especially after the last bobble he had. I understand that the coaches are thinking the weather is different and that unless he fumbles again we keep him in as we practiced having him in his skill sets. But i think in the upcoming week it really should be looked at for him to be benched from return duties till next season. I liked fozzy back there he has good vision and speed but i guess they dont want to tire him out. I just really dont want him back there im sorry he may be cool guy but even at the start of the game the two things i was worried about was him making a mistake and KB dropping lots of balls. Deangelo ran pretty good i would like to put fozzy back there and if he is too tired sub dlo in to Rb for a few plays. I think a -2 or -3 yeard run by dlo is better then giving the team turnover.

The first punt he fielded on the bounce with 3 Cardinal players around him. I was screaming at the tv, "Peter!"  Then the next time it happens, he raises his hands to Jesus and blocks the ball --in a crowd again--like a hockey goalie.

Why was he not coached up after the first one?  What the hell was he doing the second time?  Does he know the rules about what constitutes a fumble on a punt?  It seemed to me that he was confused that Arizona got the ball because he did not touch it with his hands--like in soccer or something.

There are 2 more problems he proudly displayed repeatedly Saturday--

1,  He was going to his knees for fair catches.  That creates more head movement.  When your head is moving, it is harder to catch a ball.  It also gives the punt catcher less time to recover should the ball try to slip through his hands on a fair catch.  Closer to the ground.

2.  He was coasting to the point where the ball would be caught, catching the ball on the run.  He should hurry to the spot where the ball is going to be caught so he can set up, tuck his elbows, and catch the ball cleanly.  Again, his head is still and not moving.

Our special teams coach is partially to blame.  These are basic fundamentals that do not seem to have been worked on much if at all.

    • Right but I'm not talking about other teams I'm talking about the Carolina Panthers who are heading into 8 consecutive years of losing seasons. We can argue about stats advanced metrics and expectations until we're blue in the face. Winning when the playoffs are on the line is a very key goal for any starting QB in the NFL. And not for nothing but let's keep it real here. We hung our hats on the Packers game in his rookie season after weeks of either poor or mediocre QB play. And now we're doing the same with his sophomore season albeit with a little larger sample size. But still picking and choosing what to judge just leads to an echo chamber on either side of the debate. We should all be able to meet at a consensus that competing passing the eye test and winning some games convincingly early in the season is realistically the goal for our #1 pick heading into year 3.
    • Y'all forgetting about Maz Mwansa.   He would be the fifth DE IF the cut Barno and DJ Johnson.  He would not cost us a roster spot--and that is the key. "Carolina’s pass rush is being reshaped under new outside linebackers coach AC Carter, and recent addition Patrick Jones II. While Mwansa won’t count against the active roster thanks to the IPP slot, his upside is significant. He’s been likened physically to Eagles pass rusher Nolan Smith Jr. and already shows flashes of edge-bending potential. Panthers Director of Player Personnel Cole Spencer summed it up: “Anytime you get a raw ball of clay like that, and the league affords a roster spot, it’s pretty cool.”
