Sounds like Bell is gone....

He said its important not to be emotional in the process of evaluating players... Why do I feel like a fan favorite who embodies the mantra of "Keep Pounding" may not be safe?

Who are you talking about? Thomas Davis?

If anything, I think his contract will be restructured. Don't think he gets cut, he still has the all-important "speed" element.

Thats very true.  And I certainly hope he leaves on his terms when hes ready.  An extension/restructure would be nice but he is 32.  And has a cap hit of 7 mil.

Have to think with the extension he'd get some guaranteed money.  Does Dave really want to offer a guaranteed contract to a 32 year old LB with 3 ACL tears...

Thats where my fear comes from.  Its all business to Dave.  Hurney would have given him a key to the city by now and rightfully so but this is DG's team now.

Gettleman: “Byron showed flashes. It’s about consistency. I’d give him a little bit of the benefit of the doubt. It was his first year playing there. But I think we’ve shown that if a player shows up that we think is going to make us better, we’re going to go get him.”

    • Apparently CSW lost his starting job to Thornton last year. If he can stay healthy I bet Thornton keeps that NB position.
    • I member him staying after practices with only to see he was wearing heavy weight vest, one of his trademarks. He also put in 10 years, right? People forget he was the ST stud that called the snap and made sure everyone lined up right. He was one of the "glue" guys that bought his "lunch pail" to work.... He was a willing solider, all teams need a couple of them. He blocked for sooo many panthers RBs- Davis, lane, Williams, foster, goings and when there was huge injuries he took over the starter duties and had a couple 100 yard games. If you followed hoover, he took the perfect RB path cause he was just a slow heavy one himself....
    • Walker likely depends on a couple of things. What exactly did Dan promise him, to start with.  How much other interest he actually had for a starter job at high pay is another question. It isn’t outside the realm of possibility that he could stay on as a swing tackle waiting to take Moton’s spot when it opens.    I can’t get myself to consider Icky as a viable anything until we see him back on the field.     Hunt seems to be a team player and good guy but I don’t think he is worth what he is being paid. I have him tentatively earmarked for cap causality in the near future.
