Former Jaguar Mike Brown signed to future contract

Mike is an awesome dude. I've met him multiple times and he's just a really solid guy. NCSU fans might remember him as he was the QB of Liberty when they held tight with the Wolf Pack for three quarters.

Just a little background on him. He started his career at Liberty as a wide receiver and then switched to QB. He led Liberty to multiple conference championships and Josh Norman should be really familiar with him as Mike usually carved up Norman when the two went head to head. I remember Mike and Liberty receiver Chris Summers (played with the Vikings and Bills) carving up Norman to the tune of 77 yards and 2 TD's lol.

He ended up signing with Jacksonville as a UDFA and switched back to WR. He caught a few TD passes last year but I believe he got hurt this year and lost his job as the starter before falling completely out of the rotation due in part to some of the Jaguars younger and more talented wide outs.

he ran a 4.69 at his pro day in Richmond, didn't go to the combine. Looks like he started off last season as the Jags punt returner (3 punt returns in 1st game, 2 in 2nd game), then they decided to go with someone else. Those were the only punt returns of Brown's 3 yr NFL career. They did use Brown as a WR for the 1st 5 games last yr (targets: 5, 4, 1, 3, 2 for a total of 15 of which he caught 7, one of which he fumbled away on 1st and 10 at the 20 which led to a TD for the other team in Gm 3). After Gm 5, they didn't use him any more as a WR. In game 5, he had 1 kickoff return, and that was the only kickoff return of his NFL career. The Jags cut him in November.

Jags have some talent at WR too. It looks like he did well given the few games he played and with the awful QB situation before this year. I definitely think we could see this guy on the roster given his return abilities.

Good depth guy, like some have said.  Could be this year's De'Andre Presley or could join Hill keeping the PS bench warm....idk.  Defnitely a guy that could solve our ST return issues and land a spot on the 53 in that role + maybe the #5 WR, if they choose to dress 5.

Ace Sanders was suspended the first few games. He never actually had the starting job over him.
