Roos thinking about retiring.

Captain Morgan

Our LT market keeps getting smaller.

With college LT's getting injured or returning to school, a really weak free agent market, and our screaming need,

this is not good news.

Titans LT Michael Roos is considering retirement.
"That's a very strong consideration for (me)," Roos said. "It has been 10 years and it's been a lot of fun, but mentally it starts taking a drain on you sometime so we'll see." Going on 33, Roos is recovering from a "variation" of microfracture surgery on his right knee. He was placed on injured reserve in October. Roos was still playing at a high level before going down, but the Titans already have his replacement on the roster in 2014 first-rounder Taylor Lewan

That's not a shock.

He's older by NFL standards and has been injured a few times in the last few years.

This was his only injury in his career. I bet he'll play another year or two. Whether for us or not, I don't know.

He's been injured the last 2 or 3 seasons. While it sounds good on paper, I doubt he would make it thru a full season.

The injury this October was his only career injury. Don't know where people are getting the idea that he's been injured.

He wasn't out due to injury but prior to the season there was talk they might let him go because he was thought to be declining.

That's what originally generated the preseason talk of bringing him here, but it obviously didn't happen.

I remember it being because of his cap hit and that they drafted Lewan and signed Oher. All I'm saying is it's not as easy as people think to walk away from the game. You'd have to really really really not like playing to retire when teams are still calling you. Obviously anything could happen but if I had to bet one way or another I'd say he returns. Hope we can sign him because, regressing or not, he'd be 100x better than Bell.

I would rather draft a OT than sign a free agent OT. We would probably save money where as we could have to over pay an above average OT in FA if there isn't many available.

I see us drafting at least one OT and signing a few UDFA as well as signing some cheap free agents to compete for the OT positions.

Gettleman knows how to find talent without spending much money so I wouldn't be surprised if he can find a starting OT or two this offseason without spending much.

    • Reasonable. I mean I didn’t see a clear path to relief this season myself. As I have typed already, I think the QB FA class is more interesting next season and that draft is supposed to be stacked as well. There just weren’t many options this year.  When you have Tepper to contend with you have to tread lightly around this unless you are 100% certain and willIng to stake your job on it.   There were a couple of outings that helped Bryce a lot in terms of  thinking maybe he can do this, and if you are a supporter you are giving them a lot of weight. You are likely to think just get him some more help and he can do that every week. Which I think Tepper falls into that category.  And the playoffs, division champs, regardless of the way I see that, the supporters will also give that a lot of weight.    And the big one, the atmosphere In BOA for that WC game, Tepper had to be soiling himself over that. If you pulled Bryce out right now you had better be right and your new guy had better make the playoffs and look good doing it or you will be gone and your chance to build your old team back into respectability will be gone too.  So here we have Pickett on a one year deal, and Grier and King. I understand it.
    • Well, seeing as we play the Lions at home this year, pretty sure that rumor isn't true.
    • Totally possible imo, I also caught that snippet from Morgan where he said “If” we sign him. The lack of competition says otherwise tho 🤷‍♂️
