Panthers...Hot Balls-gate?

Specifically, ball boys used sideline heaters to warm footballs during a late-November, 12-degree game between the Vikings and Panthers at the open-air stadium Minnesota is using until its new indoor facility opens.  Apparently, footballs used by both teams were being heated that way.

“Somebody told me [Carolina’s] ball boys were doing it,” coach Mike Zimmer said, via ESPN.com.

Yea, rehash story by Florio trying to paint the Panthers out as the bad guys (especially using the Panthers picture in an article that's actually about Deflategate...).  Wouldn't even surprise me if it was ignorance on both parts, Panthers and Vikings.  And even so, warming freezing balls up isn't really the same thing as letting air out.  One is trying to return the balls to their natural, regulation state.  The other is trying to make the balls outside of regulations and gain a competitive advantage.

    • Mr. 0-2 every year to start the season in his career. Last year was the first year he ever played a week 3 game.
    • The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.
    • I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.
