Predict the Line!

With Oher and Martin, Amini, Kugbila, and Chandler coming back from injury, and the strong possibility that we take an OT or two in the draft, who do you think our starting five will be on day 1?  How about mid-season?

I know it sounds like a joke, but so did the idea of Bell and Chandler being bookends last year; it's possible with our coaching staff's history that we're not just going to plug Oher/Martin/Rookie in at LT and see how the line does.

So what do you think?

Martin, Norwell, Kalil, Turner, Remmers.

I think Oher will make the team, but Martin will win out in training camp for left tackle. Both have a lot to prove, but Martin has fewer miles and he was outstanding as a left tackle at Stanford.

I think both are going to be a big upgrade for us.

Martin, Norwell, Kalil, Turner, Fisher

man this is going to be quite a sight to behold when Jeremys, Jake Fisher bubble is popped.  Carolina will not be going OT in the first 2 rounds.  With the Oher and martin signings, I think Getty thinks hes set for now, may pick up a project OT in the later rounds. or UDFA.

Panthers high on Fisher in the second, just an FYI.

Fisher won't be there for our second unless a trade is made.

The difference between this year and last is that now we have better options. Last year we had Bell and Chandler and Amin. The rookies needed time.

Sure, but the issue there is will he drop to 57(doubtful in my opinion) or is Gettleman high enough on him to move up to get him? Our 4th should be enough to get into the low 40's to pick him if he's available there but Gettleman has yet to show the willingness to move up in the early rounds. Obviously there is a small sample size to go off, but it's all we have. There's also the Chip factor. Fisher is from Oregon and the Eagles have an aging LT who probably only has a couple years left. Getting above the Eagles at 52 may be required as that very well could be the lowest he drops.

I don't have Kug in the equation at all. Think he is on the verge of being gone. I would say the next injury and he has a cash settlement bus ticket out of here.

They tried to get rid of him last year. He cleared waivers much to their dismay. He was injured, so he had to go on IR.

I doubt he gets a jersey this season.

    • If we don't extend him, there is no way another team would offer him more than a one year $10m prove it deal lol.
    • He isn’t but looking at what those guys are getting paid, paying him what he’s making now wouldn’t have been terrible, they should have and still should be looking at pairing some guys with brown to form a pretty dominant d line
    • The Bryce hate is nearly laughable.  He looked like garbage the first two games, but has really, really shown improvement and growth.  People who know football are taking notice.  Will Bryce ever be Arron Rodgers, Farvre, Manning or any other hotshot gunslinger?  No, but I think he is a smart football player who has survived a lot more than most other QB's would have after 2.5 years.  So long as this injury doesn't linger I think you will see legitimate growth over the next two years, with a big leap coming next season. Reich and Brown not working together, Duce causing trouble behind the scenes.  Starting WR's of Mingo and Chark.  No legitimate scheme for the OL.  Fitterer's general incompetence. An owner who was desperate for attention.  How did Zac Wilson, Mariota, Winston, Tribuski, Rosen, Lawarence, Fields, Jones, Pickett, and Richardson fair after 2.5 years?  We see what happens when the Texans have not given Stroud the support. The 2018 draft had great talent, they just needed to mature, hell we wasted two of the top three drafted that year.  Outside of Allen, Mahomes, Jackson, Burrow, or Drake Maye, I'm not sure I really would want any other 1st round QB drafted in the past 10 years? RELAX......  Bryce is our guy as we grow as a team.  The only other option I currently see is maybe a buy low draft pick on Drew Allar if he falls to the third round or lower. Bryce is going to be extended.  He won't get Prescott money which would benefit our team going forward.  A mid range extension like Darnold or Baker got may be just the thing this team needs to keep growing.
