Linebacker in the first?

Recommended Posts

I wouldn't be against getting depth behind TD, but I think Gettleman's priority is the lines. Guys that are big, strong, and fast are rarer and more expensive than small, strong, and fast guys. I'd rather have too many of those than not enough.

I would rage like super feggit, but not on here or twatter(by myself crying in the shower).

I've already excepted daves picking DL, so Im ready......... much prefer WR, DBs, or OT in ALL early rounds. Avoid OG, RB, LB til round 5 comp. 6/7 are made for STs, I no longer care much about these picks. In the past for some odd reason they always pissed me off.

BPA within reason/logic(no QBs/MLB early) is the best solution each round. Starting in round 5 comp, I don't care if the picks are punter and QB.

One reason our defense is good (after we got rid of the turtles in the Defensive backfield) is our linebackers are incredibly quick.

I think if Gettleman sees all the good WR, Safeties, OL are gone he will take the best player available (minus QB).

Over the past two drafts he has been nearly flawless.    While I agree it wouldn't be the most popular pick Gettleman is not going to reach for a player that is rater lower than the position we are drafting.   BPA

We switched scouting agencies.

Not sure if this is drivel or not but Don Gregory has been the Head of College Scouting since 2006.

And, in fact, the group that drafted Cam and Luke are more than likely still in the building. There wasn't much turnover when Gettleman took over.

    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
    • I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent.....
