tillman is the type of guy who could see a little bit of a rejuvenation playing behind a top three pass rush. tillman is phenomenal at sitting on routes in the zone and coming away with picks or pass breakups, and if he can get in sync with a dominant front seven… watch out

 

i hope this happens and if it does i can't freaking wait to hear how he does in camp. the more i think about it the more i feel like this could be one of those marquee signings that puts you over the edge.

My worry is that he is done and rivera won't see it until week 7 instead of starting a hungry young player.

As a mentor this would be the best signing of the entire offseason out of all the teams considering how young our secondary is. I just don't know what the guy has left with those bad injuries the past two years.

Why the fug not?

Some of you blow my mind. I garentee it would be cheap and low risk at this point in FA. If hes not that good, its not like we dont have two young starting CBs.

What I am thinking is CHI, a team with an atrocious defense will let their "Thomas Davis" walk. If he was any good, he would have still been kept. He is old and slow, a direct opposite of young and fast we have been clamoring for. It had to take Melvin White being benched for Norman to become a starter. We don't want to give Ron any funny ideas.

I'd LOVE to have this guy. I suspect he'd just be for depth but the leadership he adds would be tremendous, not to mention he's one of the best overall human beings in the NFL.

Honestly think he would be a better signing than Ball. Would be able to play across from Norman and have Bene the permanent slot guy in nickel packages. Not to mention he's a great guy all around (another NFL Walter Payton Man of the Year winner) and would be great for the locker room and young guys in our secondary. If we can get Tillman and then Jennings as well and if Gettleman drafts like he did last year I honestly see us being a powerhouse in the league, and being a top Super Bowl contender.

He is one of the greatest turnover machines we've seen in recent years.  Of course this will be a good signing.  Dude created the "Peanut Punch".

 

 

 

I for one would like to see him take Roman Harper's spot at SS.  That way he can be even more free to play in space.  I guarantee you if he does that, he will have 9 ints and at least 5 FFs this year.

Hoping I wake up to news that he was signed with us tomorrow morning. I think he could play safety and corner depending on personnel packages. Invaluable in the locker room and I'd wager he is still a ball hawk and can make plays behind our front seven. After two years of injuries he's likely hungry and wants to prove he can still produce. What better place to do it than under his former coordinator Rivera?
