Seahawks GM hints he'll just let Wilson walk if he doesn't lower his demanded price.

Maybe so. We'll see. Hell, I hope you're right.

With that said, they aren't bringing him in to block. They're bringing him in as a legit #1 receiving threat and redzone target, two things they sorely lacked last year.

Jimmy in, pass. Jimmy out, run. Got it. No chance with Marshawn in the same huddle there'd be any chemistry issues either. No way. Bennett and Irvin have already called him out as being soft and overrated. Their own teammate for goodness sake. You'd have thought they learned something from the Harvin fiasco.

it's about time there's another huddle Wilson jelly thread!!!

I love the comments about how Wilson has better numbers because he has so many more weapons than your #1 pick...fug those make me laugh!!!

those incredible receivers like Jermaine Kearse and Riccardo Lockette...annual pro bowlers for sure!!!

No receivers...all their eggs in the run game basket and yet he's 4-0 against you in his young career...but only three of those were in your stadium!!!

The question is: Is the Seahawks still a sb, or even play off, team if Wilson eats $22-25M of the cap?

He is good and clearly worth in the $15M range, but if he demands to be the best payed ever it is the right call to let him walk. Your running have and d still makes you a play off team.

We are already paying premium for cam and like someone said without him we are the Jets. So we have no choice but to pay up. It had nothing to do with cam or Wilson being better, it is all about us not having the luxury of a back up option like you do.

I would also like to add that you are seeing the result of the expensive contracts they are paying the defense.  2 years ago, these guys were on cheap deals.  No longer.

Wilson is crazy if he thinks he is elite.  take away a good OL, Lynch, and he is running scared.

The GM is absolutely correct,  He could put Derrick Anderson under center and get similar results.

Breaking up the band already?  Wilson is good.  His touch is almost uncanny, he's extremely elusive, and he is smart.  He's an important cog in the Seattle machine, that goes without saying.  He's also benefited from a very strong team around him and excellent playcalling (generally).

What will be interesting to see is if Seattle tones down the run first approach before or after he signs his mega deal where he becomes the focal point for the offense.  For most teams, they know they have to stop Lynch first before they can do much else because the play action game is killer for Wilson.

If I'm Wilson, why break the team?  While everyone wants to to get paid, in Seattle, he can become a community corner stone and be something special both on an off the field.  Why destroy that for a few extra million you can make up in sponserships and good will?

I don't think this is a major thing.  Both sides will get things straightened out and move on together.  It just doesn't make sense to try to burn it all...

Can't disagree with the Huddle being jelly.

I hope we finally beat the Seahawks in a big way this season. I've never been this frustrated since Micheal Vick on the Falcons. I mean I hope we just destroy them and run up the score.

You can't compare RW to Cam.  RW has largely been a game manager during his NFL career while on the other hand, Cam has largely been asked to BE our offense.

Yep...one is a Superbowl winning QB, and the other has 1 season with a winning record.

It's frustrating, but not in the same stratosphere as the good old fashioned hate that was. And we got the last laugh in that one too.

Russell Wilson's career stats in 3 years

Career passer rating 98.6

Career completion % - 63.4

Season passing avg- 3316

2 Superbowl appearances in 3 years.

Its ok to be a hater....

I can even deal with a troll...

But some of these statements are just flat out idiot. Its one thing to think you shouldn't pay a quarterback a particular amount, but to say he's mediocre... is baseless.

    • Not sure if they are happy but realize they can’t upgrade everything this year and are content with the group
    • Bryce among the 7 players Mark Ross of NFL.com guarantees will get better this season. Today, I am identifying seven players who I guarantee will improve on their 2024 output in the 2025 season. Young took tremendous strides in 2024 after returning to the starting lineup in Week 8 following his benching. He looked far more comfortable in his return and produced with consistency, as he threw for 2,104 yards with 15 TDs and six INTs in the final 10 contests. Most important perhaps is Young's confidence grew immensely down the stretch, leading Carolina to either a game-tying or game-winning drive in six of those games. Now he enters his second season in Dave Canales' system with his best supporting cast to date. The Panthers drafted wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan eighth overall to pair with Adam Thielen and Xavier Legette, who I also believe is poised for a breakout campaign this fall. The 18th-ranked rushing attack from a year ago added Rico Dowdle to complement Chuba Hubbard, giving the team a pair of 1,000-yard rushers. The Panthers have taken the necessary steps to ensure Young's third season will be the best of his career, and now it's up to him to not only continue to grow as a player but prove why he was worthy of being taken No. 1 overall in 2023. I believe that's what he will do. https://www.nfl.com/news/which-nfl-players-will-improve-in-2025-c-j-stroud-deebo-samuel-among-guaranteed-risers
    • While it's fair to question how impactful a player's relationship with a coach is (especially if someone has questions regarding said coach), it's important to also evaluate the difference between the players here. Jordan Fuller was pick #199 in the 6th round while Justin Simmons was #98 in the 3rd round. Jordan Fuller might have gotten a Super Bowl ring while he was with the Rams, but he got it while on the IR. Justin Simmons, on the other hand, is a x2 Pro-Bowler (2020, 2023), x4 second-team All-Pro (2019, 2021 - 2023), and was the NFL co-leader in INTs (2022). Simmons has also fallen off in the last couple of seasons though, grade-wise. He very well might not be that same player, which could be why the Falcons have elected to replace him with Fuller. As far as getting the best out of what he has, asking him to produce with a starting DL of A'Shawn Robinson (63.56% of the defense's snaps), LaBryan Ray (51.48%), and Shy Tuttle (50.08%) isn't reasonable. Wonnum only played in 8 games, but had the second most % of snaps (37.27%) at EDGE behind Clowney (53.53%). The second-string DL based on snap % was... and don't read this if you just ate... Charles Harris (34.48%), DeShawn Williams (27.67%), and Nick Thurman (19.7%). The second-string EDGEs based on snap count would be DJ Johnson (32.27%) and Cam Gill (18.14%). With the investments made in the run defense this season though, especially on the defensive line, it's more than fair to demand a complete turn around from last season.
