Benjamin admits that he got tired

Kelvin Benjamin hit the rookie wall last season, admitting that he got mentally tired.

“I’m working coming out of my breaks on curl routes, my footwork and getting timing down with Cam,” Benjamin said, via Steve Reed of the Associated Press."

Nothing much, but at least you get a glimpse into his mindset, have a reason as to why he may have let a few get away last year (not that he is using that as an excuse), and another reason to think that some marked improvement is coming.

He was a rookie so you can expect that in his first season. This year you should see a lot of more improvement from him. Let's hope he can keep the dropped balls down to a minimum and a lot more of going up top on defenders in end zone. I'm happy for Benji and I think he can be great in Carolina!

KB seems like the type of guy that is really hard on himself, always wanting to improve. He also wants to do well for his QB.

You combine that with the obvious talent he has, and his size, what's not to like? The future is bright.

Of course this is a thread...

For starters he was coming off a longer than usual college season due to winning a national championship, add in the combine, private workouts, the draft and rookie mini camp and he barely had a off-season. Of course he's going to get tired, it was non stop for him for almost a year and a half.

    • Rotating in Chuba was beyond stupid and really hurt our offense overall. We’ve been in a good rhythm the last 6 quarters or so but Canales figured disrupting that with Chuba would be worth it Rico fits this offense so much better than Chuba    As far as grades go I know that ain’t our RB1, starting Center and our supposedly deep WR room and exciting talented young TE in dead last. Weird. I wonder if that has any correlation on QB play  Even that first incomplete ball Bryce threw in the end zone that hit Legette’s hands. Legette had no business being there so early. Legette went into scramble drill when that ball was intended for Coker who led up because of the traffic there
    • Yeah Jets have pretty much been in every game they've played and have barely lost to really good teams. They are much better than their record says Imo
    • I kinda just wanna see what the offense can do with a QB who has proven he can move the football in the NFL. If Dalton wasn't a shadow of his former self I'd be fine with him but Father Time has definitely caught up with him. If we start piling up the losses as the schedule gets tougher and the passing offense continues to be anemic that might cast Canales his job and it's worth a very low risk move IMO to at least give him a fighting chance. The thought of yet another Tepper rebuild just isn't at all exciting to me having already seen a few of them. I'm about giving this current guy a fighting chance.
