I think defensive line wasn't a worry, even with the loss of Hardy last season. I think it made them strong enough to limit our additions there to some UDFAs for depth and training camp help.

Ealy showed out very well at the end of last year and Big Frank, if he can keep his head on straight off the field, can have an impact. DT isn't really an immediate need since we re-signed Cole and Dwan. DE won't be as elite as it was with Hardy but I'm confident in Ealy/Frank.

Very few 4-3 pass-rushing DEs this year. Most pass-rushers were 3-4 OLBs. Did the next best thing. Added Shaq and Mayo to throw the occasional 3-4 look and rush TD or Luke from a SAM/LEO spot.

It's almost like Gettleman knew we needed to focus on offense and our back 7 on D. Maybe one day people on here will realize he doesn't hate cam and has a plan

I believe the only DE in play was Preston Smith who is a true 4-3 DE  similar to Hardy.

i think it's just the luck of the way things fell. nothing intentional. gettleman is addicted to the DL. it will take a while before i feel any differently about that. fortunately he was able to control that addiction and not trade any of our picks for a DE or DT and used them for an actual need.

We drafted one guy for the trenches. I'm still shaking my head at the LB pick. That's my only gripe about the draft.

Yea, Preston Smith is the only DE that interested me in this draft, and Washington took him early in the 2nd to play OLB
