La'el Collins has begun visits

top dawg

Won't open. Why not? Nevermind it opened. So can we bring him here then?

I'm not sure to be completely honest.  It stipulates "at campus" or "at home of" but that may just be the wording they chose to pull from the rules.  You know how reporters are...

I wouldn't think so, until finals are over at the earliest.  My thinking is that the league office probably told the teams to "Wait a minute here and back the fug up!"  Teams probably will respect the spirit of the rules even if there is some kind of loophole. Moreover, I am thinking that this is why his agent is now saying that Collins is not meeting with NFL teams.

Florio is a lawyer and knows his stuff. If there was something in the CBA that showed Rex explicitly violated a rule, he would have found it and reported it. He loves the opportunity to create controversy. It appears the Bills found a loophole that exists solely because there has never been a similar situation to the one Collins has right now and may never be again. There has never been a UDFA that elicited recruiting visits from teams before. I suspect it will get changed in the future but for now I don't think Rex broke any rule despite violating the spirit of the rule.

I feel like La'el was like "free dinner? alright" knowing that he'd never play for Buffalo... poor Rex.

Actually I was thinking that about a lot of his visits.

I tell you, if this kid is actually innocent, then his agent is smart as fug.  I can just hear him saying:

"We gonna play these fools like a Stradivarius, kid.  You go on the world tour and be treated like the MVP. Just don't say anything crazy and get your head all turned around by the steak and lobster and such.  It's all an act, kid.  Have your fun, and then go on to Charlotte and beat out the movie star..."

Well, it's not really stopping the Phins from going about business

Three former LSU players now with the Dolphins went to Baton Rouge on Tuesday to court Collins, a person familiar with the situation said. The person said the players went on their own, and no Dolphins official made the trip.

    • That makes me wonder, how many starting tackles in the NFL and/or elite tackles have short arms? I feel like there’s probably lots of tackles that end up being drafted in later rounds because they had short arms or didn’t have the physical tools.     also why not draft a tackle in the later rounds that we could move to guard or center if they fail, instead of drafting a center? If we draft a center we know they aren’t going to play tackle but if you draft a tackle they could end up playing any of the 3 positions, look at BC for example. It feels like it’s a better decision to draft a tackle in later rounds than a center.
    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
