Thanksgiving wager suggestion...?

I have a Dallas fan here at work, a decent guy, not 1 of them delusional Cowboy fans. Well, every Cowboy fan is somewhat.... Anyway, we were jawing back & forth, and I proposed a wager, which we havent decided on. He first says that whoever is running the ball for them will have a 100yd game, which got this reaction from me....

edit:insert Tracy Morgan 'No!' gif

"Name it, Ill take the under.." I said. "Romo throws 3 TDs." was his next declaration, which I consider a possibility, but committed to the under on that one too...

Once again, Im asking teh Huddle Collective for advice, in all yous infinite wisdom. What would be a good bet here? What would you do? How confident would you be in taking the booty & running?

They could run for 100 on us as a team, but no single player for them will have a 100 yard game, so I'd take that bet any day for any amount of money. Romo could throw 3 TDs but I don't anticipate it happening. Josh will shut Dez down. Wouldn't bet on that one though since their passing attack is the real deal.

Ask for some odds. Might as well try and get the most out of it. You can butter him up by saying you're doing him a favor for taking these bets. After all the Panthers only won 7 regular season games last year. Were blown out by the insert team. However, you can spin it that he's a lock on all the bets and needs to give you an advantage to make the bets fair.

Usually thats all I do too, KJ, but Iove bets like these. Something specific and not your everyday, better overall defense at year's end, Cutler o/u 20 INTs, etc... Won on both of those previously...

Make him buy you lunch for 5 days of your choosing, he has to wear a Panthers Jersey or tie depending on office dress code.

Most of all, make sure u get to work extra early and plaster his desk area with Panthers proganda and game headlines!

Then, when he steps away for a bathroom break, edit his email signature so that it reads Carolina Panthers are much better than the Cowboys"

There u have it

Before betting on a panthers vs cowboys game, ask yourself these questions:

1.  Are the Panthers playing in primetime?

(if the answer to question number one is "yes", do not bet on the Panthers)

2.  Are the Panthers playing the Cowboys in the regular season?

(if the answer to question number one is "yes" do not bet on the Panthers.  If both the answer to question one and two are yes, run away fast)

3.  Are the Panthers playing in Jerry world ( a place notorious for horrific officiating)?

(if the answer to question number three is "yes" burn your wallet.  You will get more satisfaction out of watching your cash burn than having to hand it over to a Cowboys fan.

We win, he moves to Dallas and takes all the other assholes in Charlote that claim Cowboys fandom with him.

    • He does have speed. 21+ top end speed is very fast for a linebacker and his 3 cone drill time is considered excellent, close to elite.
    • This is awesome because you get to see the perspectives of the scouts--get a glimpse behind the curtain. I wonder whose doing this was; I am curious as to why David Tepper allowed it. Maybe it was his wife. Maybe Dan.  At least from my perspective--and probably one shared by other fans--when David Tepper bought the team, he closed everything off too much to the fans, and really didn't give an explanation. Things were obviously done because he (and/or some others wanted to do it). Remember when they used the guise of construction and all that to keep fans from seeing the team during practice? I know there are laws and safety and all that, but Tepper could've made it happen. And, of course, we all know that they essentially fired Jeremy from his independent contractor gig as a photojournalist. I never understood why they'd do that (and the negative reverberations obviously affected Jeremy and ultimately this place--i.e, us fans). The pie was (and is) certainly big enough to throw some scraps to the independents. I realize that you can't necessarily open the floodgates, but a few different perspectives from indy journalists whether in word or photos is a good thing in my mind.  So, it's great to see different perspectives. I will say this however: it is not without risk, as you know there will be some buster who will be calling the scouts out if the players flop. I think we should all keep in mind that the buck stops with the GM. It's nice to have one, however, that is so convicted in his people and process--and ultimately success, that he's willing to give fans access to this type of information. Pass this on to Tepper.
    • I hope he ends up being our best ever at the position. Ryan Kalil left big shoes behind that we haven't quite been able to fill since.
