Funchess the next Moose?

I wish. If he did, he'd still be here and he'd be starting opposite KB. Moose was much, MUCH better than LaFell ever was.

Moose had a 1400 yard season for us. LaFell could never do that.

But those nerf balls Brady throws fixed him remember?

I dont know, from the footage I've seen feom this guy in pads, he looks like he could dominate..just sromp all over DBs.

I dont recall Moose doing much of that...Moose was a great complimentary possession receiver, but never a dominant DB crusher that had the chance to be our #1 receiver.

There's definitely a difference between the two. If Funchess becomes a film room junkee and a weight room warrior, he very well could beat out KB for #1 and the sky is the limit.

Remember 2004 when steve smith broke his leg? Moose was a number one receiver.

Moose kinda had poop hands for a while.

Brick hands if I'm remembering correctly. Not just missing bad passes, but just straight-up alligatoring receptions.

Yes, Moose was probably our 2nd best receiver of all time, but looking at our history of receivers, that distinction literally means nothing.

202 games, 860 catches, 11,500 yards, 62 TDs in 14 years is a pretty dang solid career, particularly when 3 of those years were spent in the receiver wasteland that was Chicago (not so much these days). Being more than Moose would be a heck of a pick.

Moose was the 27th in all time receiving, if he's more than Moose you'll see him in Canton.

after watching KB get 1K yds on last year's up and down offensive team, it's not out of the question to expect both of them to be 1K+ receivers on a regular basis.  The early reports suggest that Funchess is the more polished receiver of the two, having a larger skill set.  We may very well see him move into the #1 role next season, or even earlier if he develops a report with Cam.  Equalling Moose should be his acceptable expectation.  Surpassing him should be realistic and what he is striving for.  Again, this is all just expectations at this point.  He's just a rookie.  But, I don't think Moose or better is unrealistic for him.

Exactly, and while i think Funchess will be good i think he is kinda being overhyped so far off potential. We saw a lot more from Benjamin in college and people were on the fence when we drafted him but funchess has got crazy hype. Hope we do see it but i just want to see him play first.

Well KB was playing with the number 1 overall pick this year.. And Funch was playing with a undrafted Wr and the Rb for the Jags as his QB..

Great receivers produce no matter the QB, And Winston was mediocre without Kelvin

I was going to quote a post...but there are too many pissing ignorance in this thread.

Moose was a top WR in this league with a good QB (Beuerlein) in 99' and 00'. Seifert and Co decided Jeff Lewis (RIP) was their guy and they got rid of Beuerlein, which ended poorly resulting in Moose's prime years being wasted with Weinke and Peete. Then with Delhomme, he literally was the BEST WR in football in 04'. (led the league in yards and TD's)

...so yeah...just a "complimentary" receiver...

...because complimentary receivers are capable of the above...

People acting brand new up in here...
