Thank you sports media

I want to thank the national sports media far in advance for making the upcoming Panthers season a lot more fun.

Your disinterest,  laziness,  indifference or apathy in the Panthers team as a whole, will make what Carolina is about to do this season so much sweeter, when we're done.

You keep reminding the NFL fanbase how we won a bad division with a losing record, while failing to acknowledge the key injuries and other factors that were out of the teams control that contributed to the below average play.

Thanks for downplaying our FA signings and for minimizing our draft picks,  while at the same time overstating our division rivals off seasons.

Thank you for forgetting that the last time our qb was healthy we went 12-4 with far less offensive weapons than we have this season.

Thanks to you, our opponents fan base and the nfl in general has no idea what's getting ready to hit them. Your journalistic ineptness is going to make what's about too unfold so much sweeter.  I can't wait to hear opposing fans cry in bewilderment that they didn't know. Why didn't anybody warn them?

I know it sounds cocky and presumptuous,  but I got faith in this team. I believe we are going to smack some people in the mouth and bring home some hardware this season. Are you ready for some friggen football?!?!?!

I wish I could give you two slices of pie, but I will humbly offer you the one I can give.

Well done. Sums it up perfectly.

Let's not be mad about not getting press - let's just go out and kick everyone's asses this year. This has the makings of being a special season. And I'm glad that no one outside of our fan base has any idea what's coming their way.

I can honestly say national media dismissiveness doesn't bother me as much as it does many.

When the guys whose job it is specifically to cover the Panthers get lazy though, that annoys me.

(heck with it; just gimme a press pass. I'll do it) :)

I for one was very concerned going into last season, so im not regurgitating anything. As far as the back to back winning season thing, these next two seasons puts that little thorn in the Panthers side to bed forever, mark it down.

One of the most annoying things about sports is how 90% of fanbases think this exact same way. "Media hates us" etc etc. Yall motherf*ckers in particular regurgitate this same sh*t year after year practically word for word, yet we've still never had two winning seasons in a row.

We fare better as underdogs and the media hates us,

Sincerely,

Every NFL fanbase.

    • Per Bill Barnwell  Broncos part ways with a CB on the roster bubble Broncos get: 2026 seventh-round pick Panthers get: CB Damarri Mathis The Broncos have a rare problem among NFL teams: too many cornerbacks. ESPN's Jeff Legwold projects they could move on from Mathis, who was very good as a rookie in 2022 before losing his starting job after the defense's slow start in 2023. He played just 27 defensive snaps after Week 6 that season and 80 more across 10 games in 2024. With the Broncos using their 2025 first-round pick on cornerback Jahdae Barron, they could justify moving on from Mathis, who might not be active on game days even if he sticks around. Mathis' best season came with defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero in Denver, and he hasn't been able to reach those same heights since Evero left for Carolina. The Panthers are set with Jaycee Horn, Mike Jackson and nickel corner Chau Smith-Wade as their three starting corners, but Mathis could push the 28-year-old Jackson and serve as Carolina's primary reserve on the outside. Mathis is owed $3.4 million in 2025, so Denver might essentially buy a draft pick by eating some of that cash, similar to what the Commanders did when they sent running back Brian Robinson Jr. to the 49ers.
    • They can get fuged for a 6th and 7th. Doesn't make sense for us for anything less than a 4th and them paying a majority of his salary.
