my first sleeper is robert lester. lester had a solid 2013 for the most part looking promising but 2014 preseason was a big disappointment for him. im expecting him to bounce back.

sleeper # 2  philly brown , brown showed some flashes vs some of the best in sherman and patrick peterson , mark my words he will break out this year and he will be a solid # 3 .

My third sleeper is an andrew norwell type of pick. not because the man plays oline but because this guy is just a mean beast and loves to lay hits on people my 3rd sleeper is brian blechen , blechen is a  hard hitting safety and i think he makes the team on pure aggression. for those not familiar with blechen hes the man who laid out devin funchess.

No-One-Is-Talking-About-Him Sleeper:
Shaq Thompson
People have no idea how much he is going to mean for our defense. Rivera has wanted a buffalo/joker player for his whole tenure as head coach. Now he has one, and a damn good all around athlete to boot. Luke Kuechly mentioned wanting to do more blitzing. Well it just so happens that Shaq's specialty is coverage on passing downs, freeing up Luke to blitz. That will be a boon for our defense. Yet no one is even talking about Shaq because he missed most of the off-season. Mark my words, Shaq is not just a TD replacement to groom. He has a unique role in this defense to play that will elevate this defense to one of the best in the league.

Underrated Sleeper:
Philly Brown
This kid showed a hell of a lot more promise than Armanti Edwards or David Gettis ever did. He has been working on his speed and fluidity this off-season, and with what he already showed the league last year, teams would be foolish to overlook him like the media is. Sure, he was a UDFA. but he is a favorite target of Cam's and he's a lock to make the final 53 unless he stinks it up in camp.

The Misplaced Sleeper:

Bené Benwikere

All off-season the pundits have had him pegged as the Nickle cornerback. I don't buy it. I wouldn't have bought it even without the drafting of Shaq Thompson. But because Thompson WAS drafted, I'm forced to call bullshit on David Newton. Bené played damn good down the stretch last year, and though we have Charles Tillman and Chris Houston, I foresee Benwikere getting the majority of starting snaps beside Josh Norman. Yes, at times Bené will play the nickel corner in the nickel package. And Tillman will be the CB2 in that instance. But with Thompson in the picture, I foresee the Panthers using a lot more buffalo/joker packages versus the nickle. When the Panthers aren't in nickle, Bené will be the starting corner opposite Norman, mark my words. Tillman is old and oft-injured. Houston is a special teams ace, from what I hear. They'll play roles, but when you have a player that can be an above average, starting cornerback, you don't bench him just because you signed a veteran.

Going into camp I'll go with these guys:

Ward - I think with Reaves being released an opportunity for Ward to make a name for himself could cement him on the 53.

Todman - His quickness and return ability could be just what is needed to make the cut but from Jeremy's coverage it really seemed like he could do more than just make the roster.

Williams - Martin's retirement left the door wide open for Williams to battle the other Tackles for the starting RT spot. He certainly looked mean enough in OTAs. The battle between him and Remmers should be good but camp might be the opportunity for Remmers to try other positions and be more of a solid swing backup while the starting RT spot goes to Williams...maybe.

Ward:  Going to see our Running game get going (if Stewie stays healthy) back to the days where hoover was opening holes for smash and Dash

Tillman:  is up there in age, but was still pretty good prior to the injuries the last 2 seasons.  Will make up the best CB trio we have had in a long long time.

Tre Boston:  Remember this kid missed camp, preseason, and the first 6 weeks of the season last year.  Came right in and looked Good for a rookie especially coming off and injury.  Excited to see what he can do after a healthy offseason.

Bonus- Ealy:  Kid has plenty of potential just waiting to blow up!

    • Another layer to that is Ive seen Seattle has been in the market for CB help this off-season.   Michael had a higher PFF grade than Horn who got 15 games this season. He wants to be here too, that's a huge bonus for any 5 win team that had awful pass rush.  The 7th rounder Michael Barrett didn't last long on Seattle, he was cut before the season I think and ended up on browns PS. He's already been on 5.......5 teams within one year.......
    • You have gave the board some recent gold via posting. Heres my poor attempt at the truthful play-by-play of the time during post- I pulled out the old laptop to do my shitposting and check on websites. Open the huddle and see this new thread. Open thread and read CRAs post, {inner thinking, oooOOooo this is my lane and I got this}. Make sure not to scroll even to the 2nd post. 23% of current neurons still firing start up and two names appear- Captain and Josh....... about another 43 seconds past "O GOD" it's July 4th weekend and I got medicine to pick up. (If the laptop didn't give away my aging, the meds should...) I need to split, think long panther careers and the hint-  Ryan Kalil was a late 2nd and Pro bowls(even all-pros too) he's got to be OLman and Mikie Minter is among the all-time Panthers career leaders. Drop my post. Scramble to get keys, wallet, and phone. Check my phone- its 17% battery.....fug I now have to raw dog the pickup line and put the phone on charge.... Flip flops, sweat ringed filled hat, and shades acquired. Get in my pos rav4 and think about not running the A/C. Pull out the drive way and reach the 1st stop light, A/C is wide open. I check my shirt to see if there's any new stains on my house shirt, bush off the Bojangles salt that I see.... Neurons re-fire and focus on the comments CRA made that no one would get this....... Dang IT, that means it isn't Ryan Kalil or Mike Minter! CVS is close, but I know its impossible I get back withing 10 minutes to change my post and my phone is on the charger. {Think you monkey, at one point you were a draft nerd}. Reach the CVS line, by some grace its not 5 cars deep during 5 o'clock traffic hell. Im second in line after the car in front of me both turn in, they have to go back and forth to line up while Im a pro for that geometry. Neurons finally reach peak performance as Ive re-thought draft classes. Think obscure and unknown 7th rounders with long careers. Some Sunday/Monday night member berry fell out of my Melon, Will montgomery during the players intros for washington. I thought he out of the league and was shocked to see him still playing around the 2015 years. I do a goggle background check and that refreshed memory. Pick up the meds and enjoy the sweet smelling cool CVS air. Driving back and check in on one of the local bums at the big stop light, wow he's got a new fancy rug. Think about all the old food I got and need to start giving it away and rethink it. Reach home and post a follow up and I know Minter is wrong too, I check the draft history and see Robert Mcclain. Too late, but that would have been my guess....open CRAs link and get "upset" at the DBs name.
    • THANKS my guy! Keeping up with this threads theme, if I view a thread and there's only 20 posts and some time passes. If I see there's one new post and read the name; @Dave Gettleman's Shortsis among the chosen few that I will reopen that thread just to see what you posted.    Thanks again, plus not just a scout, thats scotty mccloughans son?!?!? If not for the deep claws of booze, scotty is among the best talent finders this league has recently had. Last I heard he ran a consulting business. Caden could be one of those who's on a early path to being a GM in the future. I was a big fan of his dad, dam shame about booze demon ruining his career.
