oher may have been effective, but overall that was ugly as hell...let's pray that one drill was the exception and not the norm.

if it's the norm, the panthers are in trouble.

Maybe so,  but he was pushed far back enough to force Cam to move. 

just for the sake of conversation, when you have a mobile QB like Cam, won't a T give ground so that the QB can step up and under?

seems like the ends can go back as far as they want, once they've gone by, Cam can make his read or run.

i dont know much about OL play. i agree that if the red flag on the ground was supposed to be the QB, then Oher got pushed into the QB. That said, i also agree with those who remind us that Cam is a mobile QB, not a statue. Had Cam actually been in the pocket there, i think he would have had plenty of time to throw the ball, or tuck it and run. i thought it was sloppy on Oher's part, but this is only the first practice. He is back healthy and will have pads on in a few days. im still reserving judgment until then. for now, i am unimpressed, but not concerned either. 

he is certainly better than Bell. Good luck with that Tennessee....

Refer to him as Prisco in conversations near him where he can overhear enough to know you're talking about him, but never actually engage him.  If he eventually interrupts you to tell you who he is, apologize and say you had him mistaken for a journalist

I'm simply happy with the fact that Oher didn't just let him blow right by him, then proceed to stand there pretending to block no one hoping that the coaches don't notice.

Or block his own teammate, tackle his own teammate, block the invisible man, or be Byron Bell. I'm kinda excited that I consider this as progress.

As long as Oher can stay upright and keep his man in front of him I'll be happy. He doesn't have to be Orlando Pace for our offense to thrive.

I can't take anther year of watching our LT get knocked down, pushed on top of Cam, or spinning like a ballerina as the end zooms by.

Yep. Mobile QB or not it is ideal to take the ends upfield and let them run themselves out of the play, giving the QB time to step up and into his throw.  The poor guard play last year (pre Norwell and Turner) was a big reason why Cam looked so terrible at times.

They may have to start double teaming sometimes when they have a crazy pass rusher such as WATT come into focus,

If this was bell everybody would be licking there chops, OHER on the other hand I respect but once again he had those false start penalties he needs to clean up,

Hard to form an impression of any player based on one clip from training camp.  Truth is we won't know what we have in Oher or Alexander until a few games into the season.
