The Texans Are Already Wearing Their Rose Colored Glasses

Houston will come out with a similar gameplan for Olsen that Jax had. I wouldn't count on Olsen having too many stats. Doesn't mean he won't affect the game, though. Look for Philly and Ginn to have to step up again. I do think we will be able to run more effectively on Houston than we did on Jax, and we should be able to stop their run more effectively than we did against Jax. Forcing Mallet/Hoyer to pass should result in plenty of opportunities for Notman and Bene.

seems like most of them want to start ryan mallett because he was put in well after the game became a blowout in the 4th and was able to put up some points

leaning on a quarterback to be long term starter material because he played well in relief is one of the most dodgy 50/50 things you can do in the NFL i think

Their defense is trash. They gave up 27 points at home to a team that had 0 WR TDs last season.

Offensively they're the only team that might be even less talented than Jacksonville.

Watt is a monster but he's only 1 player. Even without KB, Star, & Kuechly we will dismantle them.

Okay, now I can see your electric blue glasses are on.

I don't get why people keep thinking our defense isn't anything that great.  It was said during the fantasy pregame show, NFLN pregame, Jax boards, and now the Texans boards.  I guess from an outsiders perspective, they just don't know guys like CJ, Short, Davis, Norman, and Bene outside of Luke.  Star should be back as well.

And that Texan OPs take is terrible.  He could barely write a coherent sentence.

Quite frankly, the Panthers have no real weapons on either side of the ball other them Cam Newton.
They strike no fear.
They don't have enough on either side of the ball to really worry about.
This will be a lop sided victory for the Texans.
I'm sorry I didn't add a player profile for this game, but they really don't have anyone worth mentioning that stands out other then Cam.

I watched the entire KC/Houston game yesterday and KC got 21 easy points off 2 Hoyer turnovers inside their red zone (like inside the 10, can't count on that week in and out) and a broken coverage that left Kelce ridiculously wide open. The game wasn't as lopsided as it may seem and Houston looked better than the score indicated. Mallett looked pretty solid as well, so much like anyone in the NFL Houston should not be taken lightly.

He'll be up to the challenge.

With either Hoyer or Mallet, the Texans win this one on the road easily.
Texans 34
Panthers 10

A good laugh makes me feel better after the loss.

There is frankly no basis for your statements.

JJ and 52 scrubs wont win more than they lose in 2015.

    • So the last guy who had the job got hired by his former team directly into a role he has no direct experience in?
    • Hard to pass up millions for a couple of days work per week for a coaching gig in the NFL that is 60-80 hours each week during the season and a more relaxed 50 hours a week during the off season. Yeah, I'd love to see him as our DC but hard to see him giving up the cushy job there if he gets it. And he's going to be a great commentator for the network.
    • Really, I think that is where negotiations come in. If you've got a QB getting you to 10 wins but statistically he's not a great performer, then you say look you can take $22 million or you can try it on the market. Because let's face it, out there, any leadership skills that we're seeing aren't going to be on the table, it's just going to be performance and that lands him in the QB2 market, which is much, much less lucrative (although any of us would love that money).  No one is saying that Bryce will be a $50 million QB, barring something short of a miraculous jump. I'm just saying that if we are winning somehow with him at the helm, then it would be fuging stupid to dive back into the rookie pool all over again. Let's say we do hit the 10 win mark, heck, let's call it 11 and a second round in the playoffs. I think we can all say that would be a really uplifting result and one that should be doable if we have good play. What do we do then? Here's what I would offer if I were Morgan and Tepper. $25 million a year for 3 years, each year with up to $10 million in incentives for touchdowns, wins, playoff depth, being under 10 interceptions, completing a full season, passing yardage milestones, taking less than 15 sacks. Look, Bryce isn't a Ferrari, he isn't a Corvette, or a mid-level BMW. He's probably a new Toyota Sienna that will definitely get you somewhere and bring the whole team along with it, no fuss but not a lot of pizazz.  And really, it's about the destination, not about what drove you there.
