Earlier childhood nostalgia

What are some toys and other stuff that you still remember vividly from your early/middle childhood? Like, before your middle school years...

There was a pic of a plane approaching a carrier in the Post a Pic, Any Pic thread that totally brought back my memories of trying to land on the damn carrier in the NES game Top Gun... up up up!! down!! up! down!! I think I was like 7 or 8 at the time...

Other things I can think of off the top of my head:

Ninja Turtle figures

Captain Power

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe

Thundercats

Silverhawks

the NES Ninja Turtles game and how I could never get past the swimming/diffusing bombs level

I also remember the commercials for the Big Bad Wolf roller coaster and how they used to scare the poo out of me... I would run into another room when they came on the TV

I was Michael Jackson's #1 fan at one point in my childhood... I had the glove, the Thriller jacket... and I can remember sitting on the front porch listening to Thriller on vinyl with my portable record player... I also got creeped out when Vincent Price's laughing part came on and would always have to get up and move the needle to skip it... lol

    • it's pretty simple IMO.  The Tepper Panthers are the most unsuccessful professional sports in all of sports.  The problem isn't the posters here have changed.  The product dictates the atmosphere more than anything.  In reality, the daily convos about THE worst team in all of pro sports on a fanatics site....is going to feature harsh and critical convo.  Only one entity can actually change that.  It's the Carolina Panthers football team.
    • Yes message boards will always include that sort of stuff… However, this place has been a cess pool since the team took Bryce Young over CJ Stroud. It becomes a problem when it is accepted and promoted, which it has been here (even by at least one mod). Many posters sole purpose on this board is to try to dunk on others for having different opinions. We just had one write a novella on how talking about Bryce Young’s game winning drives “needs to stop”…after a win. They don’t want real conversation. It “needs to stop”. There are many posters here who literally only show up after losses to dead thread and try to dunk on others about the QB (MRenshaw is an easy example). I really don’t see much of that happening the other way around. There’s too many people that would rather the team be bad so they can feel justified for constant doom and gloom and negative opinions. It’s been pointed out by many over the past couple years. This just isn’t a place to have football discussions anymore because of the constant hyperbole. If you don’t subscribe to “Bryce Young is the worst QB ever who can’t throw the ball further than 5 yards and is the reason why we lose any game we lose and doesn’t help in any game we win”, then you are labeled a Bryce Young Stan.
    • if you believe he is watching every NFL game.....every week.....go right ahead.  I get it, he said something you like.  But that's like believing the talking heads on the ESPN shows are watching all the games.  You think Stephen A is watching the Panthers every Sunday too?  If Stephen A needs to go on First Take he certainly can pretend like he has watched every snap any player on the roster has taken lol.   No one is that isn't a Panther fan has been watching the 9-25 career go down every Sunday.  Or even a lot of Sunday's.  You know who knows more about Bryce Young than Long? The collective huddle.  What they are reviewing is stat sheets, highlights and in summaries.  It's an old formula lol.
