While our first 4 opponents haven't been "world beaters"...

Isn't anyone else extremely impressed with Rivera who is notorious for his slow starts? He's had the team prepared every week despite being down key players. Cam has been incredible and I'm not taking anything away from him but we should take a second and recognize Rivera for an uncharacteristic fast start to the season. (run on sentence ftw)

If someone is not impressed with a 4-0 start, they're just being silly.

You can only play the opponent thats in front of you and 4-0 is 4-0.

(Oh, by the way, the Panthers opponents are 3-12 as of right now.  Atlanta's opponents who are being bragged about like they are the best thing since sliced bread?  6-9.  For some reason 3-12 is "bad" (it is), but 6-9 is redefined to be "strong".)

Today Shula was not "good" but he wasn't as bad as he usually is so I won't harp on him. Rivera thus far has been ok, not bad but not great. There's still been clock management issues and game management issues (letting teams stay in the games instead of building a comfortable lead).  He's gotten a bit better about not taking three timeouts in his pocket to end halves, though, as well as solid challenge decisions for the most part.

We're 4-0 without KB, 2 quarters from Kuechly, 2 without Cotchery, no O-line depth with Williams and Silatolu injured, 2 weeks without Star, 1 week without CJ, and a weak run game.  Look at those things I just listed, I don't care who we played, we're 4-0, and getting healthy when we need to.  This team is a contender regardless of what anyone says.

    • The same folks crying about the OL right now were crying about it in 2023 too. We have tied up over 100 million dollars in two interior olinemen alone and we have Taylor Moton inked to a recent extension. We've invested multiple first and second round picks in the offense. We hired an offensive minded head coach. This is an offensive team. The offense needs to produce or people need to be replaced.
    • This is the same place that has ridiculed and blasted Caleb Williams at every opportunity he has his team sitting at 10-4 in the same NFC that the Panthers are competing in. And their division in the NFC North is as or more competitive as our division. Yet from the same people who have very high standards for Williams we get every excuse imaginable for the smallest starting QB in the league even when he and his team continue to disappoint when the pressure is on. You lot aren't any less inconsistent than anyone else.
    • The Panthers are 9th in cap spent on offense this year.  However next season is already a different story  The Panthers as it stands right now will be 18th in cap spent on offense and 8th in cap spent on defense  The Panthers are currently set to spend more on defense next year than they are on offense this season Guys like Jaycee and Moehrig cap numbers take a big jump. Wharton has a massive cap hit   Jaycee Moehrig and Wharton in 2025 The same 3 in 2026 So this same defense as it stands right now will cost more in 2026 than this offense does right now… Got anything else you want to try?
