Could J-No be DPOY? Cornerbacks don't often win...

packers panthers is a home game for us this year so unless we play them in lambeau we couldn't end that streak

For some reason I was sure it was in GB. Guess he'll just have to end the God of Football's short streak of attempts without a pick at home in Seattle a week from tomorrow.

wasn't he on Jackson a lot of the Tampa game? One read jameis shut down evans.  Josh is in the running if he keeps this up.  He basically won the games against Jacksonville and New Orleans and demoralized Tampa early.  I hope we're watching a ton of film on chuck and duck Wilson and he picks off three or four of those throws he lays up that his wrs always seem to come down with.

Not from what I read, he was on Evans most of the game.  I can't remember the source, might have been PFF so it can be taken with two grains of salt, but he was only on Jackson for like 37 of his 100something yards (which tells me not many plays).

He was on Jackson most of the game, but Jackson got his yards at the end in garbage time, when Norman was not on the field.

Only CB to shutdown Hopkins so far this year. Shut down Robinson. Shutdown Evans. Will shutdown Julio-twice. I'm feeling it boys. Going to be not only a DPOY-worthy year from Josh, but one of the best year's by any CB in the history of the league. Damn I hope we can keep him.

I know right. Pretty crazy for a guy that was "cocky and arrogant" in some fans eyes betting on himself and not taking the money.

Biggest problem is that QBs will eventually just stop throwing at him.  No pass attempts = no stats, and no stats = no DPOY.  Nnamdi and Revis had some incredible years at CB in the past decade, likely DPOY-worthy in terms of sheer positional dominance, and did not win.  I think Josh would be in the same boat.

You pissed me off lol I read through this whole thread happy that no one had made my point...then bam the last post.

But precisely, unlike some other positions that you can't avoid QB's will get smart...or just use common sense and stop throwing in his direction.  The billing of a top corner should not be limited to INT's , often times the stat that tells that a QB won't attempt a pass your way is scarier. It's just not as sexy for awards.

I absolutely love the dude and will cheer for him every week. But honestly, I kinda hope he doesn't win this year. It makes resigning him that much harder. You have a lot of leverage when you carry the title defensive player of the year and he is already gonna get a huge payday. Let's resign him and save the award for next season... I just want him baxk.
