He'll get tagged and then let go in 2017 when he's on the wrong side of 30. Hopefully Gettleman picks up a CB or two in preparation for that

I'm like others who think he's tagged next year and gone after that.  Which is perfectly fine considering his age.  Perfect really.  And remember he wasn't a GMan draft pick.  In GMan we trust.

 

not to mention that while the cost may be absurd, there'd at least be the OPTION to tag him for another year AFTER next.

I'd like to see the tag used to leverage a manageable 4 year deal with respectable guaranteed money.... He has to know he is late to the party as far as being considered best in the NFL... Two years ago he was a barely coachable liability

Gettleman's train of thought  is you don't pay high end corners. 

He continues to invest in the dline. 

I love Norman, but his talk about getting paid, leads me to believe he is pricing himself out of the Panthers market.

I love Josh Norman, but some credit has to be given to the coaching staff here.  They continue to get good to great production from the defense regardless of who they plug in.  I wouldn't jump off the cliff and say Josh is purely a product of the system but he's certainly part of a successful system.  Either way I have faith in this front office and coaching staff to make a prudent decision in dollars vs. value.  That can mean being shrewd at times but haven't the Patriots proven for years it's better to let a player walk a year early than keep him a year too long?

yeah, there will be no talk of a home team discount with him. He's already guaranteed that. Gettleman better get ready to pony up
