we are doing one traditional turkey in the oven and one deep fried. i may rig up a smoker and do a third, but that takes too much time and i'd rather be hunting that morning.

we will also have ham and venison and i may harvest a rabbit or two for the meal.

I'm gonna splurge on a couple of large beef tendelroins. Always slow in the oven. Start at 275, gradually bring it down to 220 or so over the course of an hour, and leave 'em there until you hit your desired temp, no higher than 125. Let 'em sit for at least an hour. Obviously to rest but also to bring to just above room temp for serving. It's such a simple recipe and if you buy quality beef, you can't miss. You'll be a hero, I promise.

And while I am fond of making my own bread, biscuits, rolls, etc, I have still yet to execute anything that brings me the satisfaction of a 3/4 inch slice of that tenderloin on a Sister Schuberts roll.

    • Cam had the advantage of having a very strong supporting cast his first 2 seasons. Things definitely worsened later on. But those first couple of years can kill a QB. Some never truly recover. If they do recover it takes years, and usually with another team. Trying to learn to be an NFL QB with TEs and WRs that are trying to learn too is a recipe for disaster. Imagine if Cam's rookie season was that 2014 offensive squad. Changes everything! I said it when they moved up in 2023. This team wasn't ready for a rookie QB yet. Anyone that thinks Stroud would have been a lot better is delusional. The correct formula is to build a strong team and then you go get your rookie QB. Not the other way around. BY is going into his third season and we're still trying to put a respectable group of WRs and TEs around him. I think they have the right personnel now. Unfortunately they haven't developed into actual NFL players yet.  This season we should expect consistency and aggressiveness from BY. Mostly for his development but also to DEVELOP his young cast.
    • It is goofy how some people hate Bryce so much that they're flat out lying to try and remain entitled to their pessimism. It's insanity. Most fans are realists and eagerly awaiting the season to see if we get pre- or post-benching Bryce to start the season and how much he is able to do with some young and developing weapons. Many of us understand that these young guys are going to have growing pains on the job as well as the new defense, but the fans with all of the excuses for why Bryce can't be successful are pounding the no excuses drum. Personally, I'd prefer the Keep Pounding drum.
    • Just like we overpaid for Wharton.
