Bojangles for lunch and other superstitions

Nice article about the team's, coaches' and some fans' superstitions:

http://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/spt-columns-blogs/scott-fowler/article49265935.html#storylink=mainstage

"After practice on Friday, they cater a lunch for us," Kalil said. "In past years, some weeks it is pizza, some weeks it is Bojangles'. This year we had Bojangles' for Week 1 of the season and won. So we had Bojangles' for week 2. And so now we've had Bojangles' for 12 straight weeks. It never changed. If you're looking for why we have been so successful this season? I would say Bojangles' – and that's a non-paid advertisement."

Unfortunately they've missed the only superstition that has been scientifically proven to be an actual real life phenomenon.... SCP's helmet.

I don't wear pants on gameday. So yeah, Thanksgiving was a little awkward.

Same here I was sick home opener laid on the couch in my boxers, I only wear boxers when the game is on

I have 5 panther  jerseys I haven't worn all season. .I won't wear one unless we lose a game

I typically wear Panthers jerseys during game day but somehow I started watching this year in "plain clothes"......  now, even though I want to wear my "59" , I will resist the urge (and I am really, really, not superstitious), too much on the line this year !!

My superstition actually got some run with Under Armour earlier this season..

I've been wearing the same Cam Newton C1N pants since week 14 last year, where they have gone 16-0 in the regular season since then. Earlier this season, I was out doing some yard work and my pants ended up ripping to the point they should have been thrown out. I tweeted out something about how the streak was fun while it lasted, but the it was likely over now that the pants had to be thrown out. Under Armour caught wind of it and offered to replace the pants for free to keep the streak alive, but they don't make these ones anymore. After some other Panther fan support, they convinced me to keep the pants and wear them on game days, hole and all. After the Panthers won that week Under Armour sent me the following message:

Another big win for Cam, the pants are on fire! If you're unable to salvage them and do want to send them back for an Under Armour gift card please let us know. We would be happy to assist and there is no expiration on that offer. We're happy to help! It sounds like they are the lucky charm holding their run together, keep up the good mojo.

There you have it.. it's the story of the pants keeping this streak going. I do some other weird stuff on Sundays too (can't leave the house, don't wear my wedding ring, don't shower until after the game, have to watch the game alone in my man cave *with the surround sound on*) Ironically, the only game we have lost in in the last 18 was the playoff game, where friends convinced me to go out to watch the game.

Here is to 13-0 tomorrow..

    • OK honestly I don’t identify like that but if I did I would think about being the first raised on TV generation (bad), we were probably latch key/before the term was invented - because I was raised by a single working parent, stuff like that. No baby sitters until after dark. Afternoons you just waited for an adult to show up. We were the bussing generation where they tried out their social engineering and forcing the races together in school (good and bad in that), and definitely the first bunch to have to deal with the threat of the big bomb going off. I, like everybody else was taken out in the hallway at school and taught how to and where to sit and receive my radiation dose if someone nuked us. And then they killed our president right in front of us. That is probably the most destabilizing thing that gets the least attention. The atomic bomb and the potus killing.  Around t(e same time we had the Beatles and music becoming a youth thing, with the youth gaining economic power they still have today, and top it off with a good memory of childhood - all tne Coke bottle caps had pictures of NFL players in them. We collected them. I particularly remember Mick Tinglehoff Minnesota Vikings lol. Complete with flattop haircut. We had pro football before there was ever a super bowl and in those days baseball was the king of sports in the US.But football was coming for them. And soccer was what weird funny talking foreigners did lol.
    • When Kenny Pickett's arm looks noticably zippier than your starting QB you know problems are ahead.
    • Correction, meant to say Seattle had a limited passing attack in the SB.  Darnold did do enough to win.
