Young coming up, and another DB is being sought

The Carolina Panthers will attempt to patch up the hole in their secondary with not one, but two Band-Aids.

According to league sources, the team is planning to promote cornerback Lou Young from the practice squad while also adding a free agent corner. It's unclear who that will be and what the Panthers will do for a corresponding move, but that signing should be done before they start their pre-Giants preparations on Wednesday.

The only thing I take from this is that Tillman is probably way farther behind than anyone wants to admit. I fear we may find out that Tillman's knee hasn't responded at all to treatment, that surgery is the only option and he is being put on IR.

Please let me be wrong.

Or maybe the CB depth is so dire we want to save him for the playoffs. Who knows.

Hoping it's Melvin, I loved Mel and he made plays for us. Would help our depth greatly, and he'll be more familiar with our defense and players than anyone else we could sign. Excited to see what Lou Young has, he has tremendous upside and could turn heads.

Please bring back Melvin White.  I liked him a lot...he always had tight coverage, just struggled to get his head turned around to make plays on the ball.  Surely coaching can fix that eventually right?

In the very near future, we're going to be like the Patriots where some of our best depth is sitting on the couch waiting for a phone call, and moves like bringing in Melvin White is going to be a regularity when responding to injuries.
