Both to the Panthers *and* to Cam.

And this time, he see's through the smoke of the Beckham camp with regard to le affaire Norman/Beckham like he has x-ray vision.

The New York Giants and/or Odell Beckham's representatives are working overtime to find someone to blame for Beckham's actions on Sunday that got him suspended for a game.

There's no room for any slurs in the NFL, and the league will have to investigate these claims. If any Panthers are found to have been directing homophobic slurs toward Beckham, they should be punished as well. But it is interesting how hard the Giants and/or Beckham's people are working to turn public opinion in his favor.

Beckham has been criticized heavily since Sunday's game, and rightfully so. His actions were inexcusable, including a head shot on Panthers cornerback Josh Norman that played a big role in his one-game suspension. But since then we've heard that officials were to blame for not controlling the situation, or Giants coach Tom Coughlin is to blame for not benching Beckham. Then there wasthe goofy story that the Panthers were to blame for having a baseball bat on the field before the game, though they have had the bat on the field before other games in some motivation ritual. Then after that story simmered a while, the story of the homophobic slurs was leaked to multiple outlets. That's a serious allegation, and while there's blame to go around for how out of control things got Sunday, Beckham ultimately controls his own actions.

Yeah you could tell this was a concerted effort by their PR department to spin this as quickly as they could.  Mission accomplished to some degree as we've seen some shitheads fall for it.

Like I said in another thread earlier today, having the New York media behind you is a powerful tool.

Like I said in another thread earlier today, having the New York media behind you is a powerful tool.

New York media used to rave about Yankees farm players to the point that some other team's dumb GM would trade for them...and then shortly thereafter find out they weren't that great.

This isn't the first time they've been spin doctors for a New York sports figure.

In this case though, I get the feeling it's going to backfire on them. Sometimes if you make up a ridiculous story as an excuse for something stupid you did, you just wind up looking worse.

Well not just the New York media... I watched the after show for MNF tonight.

Ray said don't judge him blah blah blah. And that Norman was the one who started it with the slam.

Dilfer (fug this tool again) was quick to point out the officials were at fault because they were warned of this since they knew it was coming because Carolina apparently has a reputation for these kinds of things... said he wasn't calling us a dirty team BUT stressed we are like this.

Then ol Prime Time claiming we called him homosexual slurs...

Objectively, even if Norman instigated it, Beckham is in the wrong. I would say it about Norman if he was the one that took it to that level with a blatant shot to Beckham's head. The Giants just need to hold him accountable and stop playing the "mah child dun no rong" card.

This story is so strange.  It can't just be about a young man losing his cool.. as he'd done before.  Instead it's about refs, coaches, bats, and slurs.

Once the suspension is upheld I think this story goes away.

I don't think it'll go away until the NFL addresses the bats and the slur claims. I expect the suspension to stand, and the league to say the bats have been fine but to stop doing it from now on and that there were no slurs by the Panthers.

Its all a effort to direct blame away from OBJ so they can justify lifting the suspension, I highly doubt any of it is true, just a child trying to avoid taking responsibility for his actions, and the fact that this is not only condoned by the Giants, but the spin is being attempted to be put in place by their PR tells you everything you need to know about that organization.

I highly doubt the Panthers were trying to make excuses for Norman,  heck you saw Cam pull him aside and try and talk some sense into him mid-game.

I would also like to note that we need not forget that OBJ tried to Reach-out and apologize via Deon Sanders initially Sunday night, I guess after Norman refused to accept, this is OBJ's next move in a attempt to skirt punishment by the League.

The NFL will prevent opponents from using 'Keep Pounding' and 'lay the wood' when Odell is the opponent because they could be taken the wrong way and Odell feels violated when they touch his ears?

No pipes, bats, sticks, or poles shall be present when Odell is on the field. These objects will distract him from the game at hand. He will be offended, feel threatened, believe his manhood is challenged, and will fall into a psychotic rage that will endanger all the other players on the field.

The flames caused by the pyrotechnics used by Odell's opponents are still under review as they may present psychological pain in the work place.

Big Bad Black Bat Gate (aka Liberal Giants-Beckham Threats act) is in full effect during the week before the Panthers Super Bowl game.

By this age in our live's we should all expect better from social media, but I know better.

this whole world has perpetual pms.

The ONLY advantage of getting old in my estimation is that you no longer have the time or energy to worry about poo like "words".

Somebody wants to say "words"?  You're response when you're of an age is "Ehhhh... fug it." lol

    • I'd give Bryce until the trade deadline to prove he's the answer and if he's not I'm dumping him for whatever pick we can get and I'm riding with Dalton the rest of the way.  2 and a half years is enough time to determine if he can be the QB going forward so for Bryce he needs to come out over the next couple of weeks and show that. The other players in the locker room don't wanna waste another year of their careers waiting to see if you'll ever figure it out.  If you took a poll of the players in the locker room I'm sure they'd rather lose with a respected veteran Dalton who at least gives them some creditability versus losing with Bryce who the entire media will say was let down by his supporting cast when in reality it's Bryce's physical limitations that are holding this team back.
    • I agree that he should’ve never been the pick at 1. In my 44 years I’ve never seen a team invest that much in a QB who is my size. I’m not meant for the NFL and neither is he.    Accepting we can’t change the past, I think it’s the correct call to keep playing him hoping that he will prove us wrong. I think we were dumb not to draft a QB this past year and let him learn and compete but that’s our reality.    I’m hoping this is the last year with the BY experiment and he deliverers us 1. To the playoffs or 2. The number one pick and we draft a real QB.
