Chip Kelly fired

How ironic if the QB everyone thought he would trade up for ultimately is reunited.

I'd say they're probably already talking.  Titans already fired their coach and Kelly is available.  It might be the first opening filled once the season is over.

I hope so because as I already said in this thread hopefully he doesn't come to the NFC South.

Anyone who thinks Chip Kelly is a bad coach as opposed to the Panthers' and Rivera's miracle season so far is none too bright.

I believe that @CarolinaCoolin and I debated about Kelly this past summer.

See? Dude just didn't have the juice as it pertained to running a pro team. People caught up with his schemes. Moreover, jettisoning a few key stars on offense and defense isn't set up to end well.

one season doesnt prove much. 26-21 through three seasons.

Chip really blew it after being given the coaching and GM position. How a guy comes straight from college FB and right into all of that power? GMing a team is incredibly complex and when was the last time that having a hybrid coach/GM worked for any length of time? A lot of much more experienced folks have tried and failed at that.

That being said, Chip Kelly's system and style is what the NFL will be like in the future. Fast scoring, no standing around, limited substitutions play that resembles not just college but Arena-league stuff as well. Scoring plays make highlight reels, not 6-yard gritty runs.

I actually bet that Chip will end up at Tennessee, Detroit or Indianapolis where they have top talent QBs. I don't expect him to ever get the GM reins again, though.
