I can barely watch sports television this week. Every time I look up I’m seeing Peyton this and Cam that, and OHMYGODTHEPANTHERSGOTTHEIRSUPERBOWLJERSEYSTODAY!

IT’S LIKE WATCHING THE EX-GIRLFRIEND YOU DUMPED HOOKING UP WITH A GUY A DAY BEFORE HE BUYS THE WINNING POWERBALL TICKET.

This makes it even worse. The team that modeled themselves after us, who we’ve owned for year, who we knocked out of the playoffs a year ago, has now made us their bitch. The come back win at CenturyLink in October…. the beat down at their place in the divisional playoff round. It’s a legit Cam Newton soapbox right now (cringe), and to me, it just feels wrong. It’s like watching the ex-girlfriend you dumped hooking up with a guy a day before he buys the winning PowerBall ticket.

It would be one thing if some upstart NFC team like Philly or Washington had snuck into the Super Bowl…. we have to sit back and watch the Panthers play in, and probably win, our game.

What's this modeling ourselves after the Seahawks poo?we made some changes for sure after losing to them but the changes weren't to be like them, it was to beat them...which we did. And all we did was change what we were looking for in our secondary. As far as scheme and philosophy on defens we have been consistent from the beginning only getting better. On offense it was always going to be built around cam....you know,  the guy we took with the first pick overall, well before wilson was drafted.

Isn't more like "The Ex Girlfriend Who Dumped Him"?

And they just mad, cause they see the proverbial hand writing on the wall when they thought they would be NFC Kings for the foreseeable future.

And the fact that our QB's an integral part of his teams run (oops), just makes them even more pissed.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
